Private servers, would you like them?

So we're "blessed" with a megaserver. And yes, I am aware ZoS has no plans for what I am about to talk about. This is just for discussion and who knows, maybe it'll give ZoS an idea. So, the subject of the poll:
If ZoS were to offer private servers where you could play with ONLY those people you invite/give access, charging a monthly subscription fee for you to have your own, would you be interested? You would have to roll characters you could only play there and not transfer to the megaserver but would otherwise have the exact same game you have here, with a population of only those you want to play with.
If you choose "yes" please state what price you would be willing to pay for a private server.

Just play on the PTS. It's pretty much empty anyways ...

Not only do i have no interest in a private server, but I think that if they existed they would be actively bad for the health of the game. Anything that further splits up the player population is a bad thing IMO.

Now if the motivation behind this is to avoid trolls, then I would submit that a more appropriate solution would be to have better tools for reporting and ignoring trolls. Especially for ignoring them. A block list that prevents you from seeing any messages from someone you put on it, as well as preventing you from seeing their character or having any interactions with them (including not being targetable by their heals, etc) would be best.

Or yeah, you can do what @SirAndy suggests and play on the PTS. The only problem with that approach is that your characters will get periodically wiped and replaced with new copies from live.

Part of the reason I WOULD like private servers is indeed to be free of the trolls ZoS seems to have no game plan to eliminate. I have very little faith that they will ever implement the necessary tools you mention to allow the players themselves to stop harassment. Playing on PTS isn't really a viable option for exactly the reason you mention. But aside from those two things I kind of long for a return to the old pen and paper days where you adventured with your friends and just didn't have to deal with other people at all. Alas, I am hooked on the graphics of games like these. LOL So yeah, I'd like to have the option to have the best of both worlds.

I don't think such a service would really hurt the game. Most people are pretty content to play on the megaserver but I think enough people would ALSO like something such as I've suggested to be profitable for ZoS.

I would love if you could change the game to single player. Transfering your characters to the single player version but not back. But sadly that is not an option.
