XBOX ONE scores 9.1 & PS4 a 7.2...What in tarnation is wrong with you people?

After watching King....or better yet Lord James secure another win for the Cavaliers...I went on Metacritic to see how my recent PS4 purchase has done.

XBOX ONE:
http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-one/the-elder-scrolls-online-tamriel-unlimited

PS4:
http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-4/the-elder-scrolls-online-tamriel-unlimited

Post reviewing both scores I have one two main questions: ....is XBOX Live THAT much better than PSN? ...are the controls on XBOX ONE way better?

On Metacritic the XBOX ONE score is over 9 (which for most games is a dream, and this is AFTER 100+ people have reviewed both systems). However, the PS4 version with almost the exact same amount of reviews is only a 7.1. How is this even possible?

I bought the PS4 version after debating it for a week...and my initial experience is that the PS4 version is that I was very impressed. This is after experience the small amount of lag from all the players logging in at once...which quickly diminished. I played the PC version since BETA (on a computer I built with over $3,000 in parts)...so yes I know what it looks like on a HIGH END PC. The PS4 version is damn close....I'm not saying its better by any stretch of the imagination....but give these guys credit where credit is due! It is VERY close. If you don't believe me pay more attention to the lighting and water effects...it is insane how well they did with the hardware they had to work with.

The ONLY reason I can come up with for XBOX ONE having such a higher score is XBOX Live vs PSN....or...maybe its the controls??? Do you guys have any ideas why XBOX ONE is doing so much better in polling?

I own both system's, and this is an easy one to explain... the xb1 has a vastly superior online infrastructure. Yes, ESO has lagged here and there but that's due to the stress it's server's are taking. I love both my xb1 and ps4, but i always prefer xb1 when it comes to online MP because it's THAT much smoother, faster, and better. I've yet to have one loss in any fps, race, GTA, sports game etc on the xb1 where internet was a factor in my loss. Every single loss i've had on XB1, thanks to the cloud, has happened at the hands of my opponent.

Try playing NBA 2k, or MKX on PS4 then compare to xb1. It doesn't matter if the graphics may be slightly better on ps4 if the online functionality is literally that far apart.

I expect this to be the norm for the entire life of the ESO on consoles. It's a reason i chose xb1 over ps4 for ESO (i already owned it on PC). PS4 still has an entire network built off of peer to peer MP and desperately needs to buy into the cloud like MS has. This console generation is all about MP after all

Metacritic is garbage. Wait for the ACTUAL reviews by professionals.

Or just play the game and make up your own mind.

Well not sure if it's the same for everyone , but I have it for both systems, I wasn't sure which was going to be my main. So far it seem to run smoother on the Xbox. Now that might be because more people are on the ps4 in the same area , but the areas I'm in don't seem too populated.

What about the controls? Do the controls feel better on XBOX ONE or PS4? That was my main concern.

Yup. Any rating site that allows a random person to leave a review without any kind of confirmation that they at least have the game is pretty meaningless.

    Hardware wise no.

The GPU on paper for the PS4 is 50% more powerful. On a separate note there are several videos showing how lines are not as jagged on the PS4. But it is VERY close

HOWEVER....and this I will not debate....time and time again XBOX Live has proven to be a far better online experience than PSN. I hope that is the only issue. I was worried about buying the game for the wrong system and now I wish I could switch to XBOX ONE unfortunately I bought it from PSN for a 10% discount digital download....that money is gone.

overall its pretty dam good on ps4

between both systems the gamer-tags are probably pulling some immersion out of it but other then that controls are right on
everything is pretty tight . little lag , nothing else to gripe about

I was debating getting the XBOX ONE version for the controller alone. In videos I watched for the XBOX ONE I always heard people talking about how perfect the controls were. I wonder if theyre just as good for PS4. I wish someone would comment that owns both versions.

Well I have both an Xbox one and Ps4. I bought the PS4 version because thats the version all my friends bought. And THAT is what should be the main concern here. The PS4 version runs absolutely fine so even if the xbox one version is better it would only be slightly better. I think at the end of the day it all comes down to personal preference. Do you prefer the xbox one controller? Do all your friends have the xbox one version? Get that version then.

If you let metacritic user review scores influence you in any way you're an idiot. They are rage posts, bots, and players which haven't even played a game on the platform and over two-thirds of all reviews come from accounts with less than 5 lifetime reviews.
End the tedious inventory management game.

Which version do you prefer as far as controls are concerned? Or did you only buy the PS4 version?

Just the ps4 version but again it comes down to which controller you prefer as the controls on the ps4 version work great.

Since the score is based on user reviews, and assuming the experience for both consoles is similar enough, the only thing left is.... the users.
It would seem Xbox players are a little more patient than PS players?

Honestly, PS controllers give me hand cramps. Something about their shape /size around the edges makes them a little too small in places and cramps the center of my hands when I hold them. Button layout seems to be pretty much the same. I have to say the default layout is really good, once I get past my ingrained reflexes from PC.

    Also as said before:

SONY dropped the ball on PS3, and Xbox has a huge lead on social/party features and game integration. Xbox has more of a culture of voice chat available all the time.

If you go into a game like Battlefield: Hardline and randomly join a squad, it will be quiet. IIf someone starts talking, often everyone will switch on their mics and chat (Xbox one players also have a self mute button on all mics. standard... and a lot of the less annoying people use them, as my example above oten default them to off.). We do have idiots that use heir Kinect as mic and that never works out well. We have robot voice idiots and music idiots too.

IMO ESO's voice chat system plays more towards Xbox culture than PS4 culture.

I agree with the PS3 controller comment...but the PS4 controller is way better than the PS3 controller. However, I'm not sure that it is as good as the XBOX ONE controller

Yeah, I don't think the PS design is bad... just designed for people with smaller hands than me.

BTW I loved the ginormus super potato Xbox original controllers... though some of the buttons were hard to press... lol I have big hands and short fingers.

Also, is it too late to get the preorder bonuses to play any faction as any race?

They are pretty much exactly the same.

    The differences are:

The buttons in the middle of the controller, "map", "call horse" etc. Xbox has 2 small buttons, PS has a big touchpad.

Slight location difference on the left side of the controller. PS "dpad" is above sticks, while xbox's is below. All the buttons do exactly the same thing though.
