The title... I plan to build a bloodmage but im afraid that groups may have something against no-templar healers...

    Some will. Others won't.

There are people who look for "sapping" healers.

I heal on my NB and I know I'm not the only one.

I find the ability of non-templar healers to be very situational.

There are tasks where NB healers are great, even better than templas, and also places where a Templar is a must.

Any situation where people are going to be running wide and wild, with spread out non-targeted healing important I'm going to demand a templar.

However, in dungeons where healing is easy and the extra DPS from a NB healer is welcome, that's going to be a great substitution.

Additionally, I should say that those comments are about KNOWN players. I'd be highly skeptical of non-templar healers in PUG groups.

I am still extremely classy. As a magicka NB I would not take anybody that calls a NB healer a Bloodmage in a group I make. Just because their nomenclature snipises me off.No problem with NB healers though.

There will always be those kind of people unfortunately but on the other hand there will also be people which welcome any Class and any Race for things and do not worry about such matters. As long as you are performing your role then it's all good!

It shouldn't be a problem, and if you have thick skin and are ok being turned down by the majority of PUGs, then have fun.

But, you should know in all fairness, the majority--the vast majority--of higher players looking to group will absolutely be prejudiced against you. And it only gets worse the harder the content. Almost no one will take you into trials or COA/COH vet dungeons.

There was a brief period there when the Templar passives got nerfed in 1.6 where the other classes' healers had a moment in the sun, but once you start looking for trials/higher level grouping, even with the Templar nerf Templars are still the only accepted healer for the vast majority of v14 players.

I don't like it, and I don't endorse it, but it's factual. If you do it, have fun, but do it eyes wide open knowing your end-game grouping is almost always going to ask you to DPS, not heal, no matter what you call yourself.

Trials are a little more picky, but any class half paying attention can heal Vet Pledges etc. Honestly, all you need is healing springs for the most part... it's easy.
