Bots in Bangkorai

Not sure whether or not this the correct part of the forum to post this.

Two bots in Bangkorai. Reported more than once by a few players over a period of days. Standing in one spot for long periods of time spamming skills. Not sure if they are botting for materials & gold or for cp points or the whole lot.
While I cannot mention names or add screen shots, they can be located just north of Duraegs cottage. Hope that is not against TOU.

It probably is working, but as you may have heard.... "After console release™" Thay are far too busy with the next money-milk fest to be bothered by such trivial tasks.

We should all get together and have a bot-party around them.

Only one left now. Same as 3 nights ago. Guessing it's a cp thing for at least one of them, now the enlightenment period is over.

Haha. Bot party. Drag a whole lot of undead up to the one left & see how long he/she survives...

I honestly don't even care about this any more. After thinking about it I came to the conclusion that no sane person would grind for cp.

You pretty much stop gaining mob XP in Bangkorai at level 48. Grinding CP there is like grinding a wall at a night club.

You can... but you'll just come home empty-handed and frustrated.

Or maybe it's an After Console ™ test. You get scratched by a bot in Bangkorai, take a quest line, and at the end you can transform into a Templar with better resource management.

There are some pretty popular grinding spots on that map. I grind out my enlightened there every day, and I see many others doing the same. I have't seen anything I'd consider a bot yet.

Exactly, and because XP was super nerfed in Craglorn, a lot of players are grinding their CP out in the last Cadwell's Gold zone for their alliance.

By the way, grinding is not against the games rules and it is not botting.

No one said that is botting. The botting comes when it is completely automated/macroed, and by the description OP gave, it is.

Grinding isn't against the rules assuming there's a real live person doing the grinding.

If it's the same character in the same spot using the same skills all day every day, gives absolutely no response to whispers or shows no reaction to anything going on around them of any sort ever, then it's either a human being with considerable focus and an amazing tolerance for tedium or it's a bot.

While I'm hesitant to accuse anybody of being a bot, I would still be inclined to bring suspicious behavior to a GM's attention.

In that instance, it is Most likely a bot.

However, there is the off chance it could be a real person just pressing the same button over and over again for a single skill and not looking while they gain XP and watch Netflix, with the chat bar turned off and otherwise not paying much attention as to what is going on.

Very true one shouldn't discount the possibility. I've been caught a few times totally zoned out watching TV while grinding kills for trophies. It happens. Still I wouldn't hold it against someone for relaying their concerns to a GM.

    Exactly this.
I turn off my chat when I'm grinding and have either Netflix or Twitch going on my second monitor. I see people stop in front of me and jump up and down once in a while but I mostly ignore them and keep puling more stuff to kill. Most interaction i've had with other players is following the streaking Sorc in the skelly costume around in circles, been seeing that dude everyday this week...never once talked to him or anyone else for that matter.

FYI, You can definitely 1-button grind (steel tornado) and load your bar up with other crap you want to level, this is a good way to level skills...put your buffs/movement on your back bar and your AOE (steel tornado) +4 others skills to level on a front bar.

Here's another little trick for all the stam people. Get this: http://www.esohead.com/items/55870-dominions-axe
And never have to worry about resources. You can even AOE grind with 0 durability on the rest of your gear with that 3-piece.

    Here's a better link actually: http://www.esohead.com/itemsets/129-vengeance-leech

I reported one at one point and I assume a GM showed up b/c he was dead shortly after (no way he could have died on his couple mobs that spawned there so I figured a GM killed him) but he was back the next day. They need to watch and verify, then ban (same thing that should start happening to pvp cheaters).

This is a vet zone for two DC the factions. OP doesn't mention which faction he is in. For those this is a vet zone they would gain XP.

Did, twice. Know other players have as well. Not submitting anymore reports as i do not want to abuse the the system, as there is a warning about abusing the report function.

Back when there was that insta-spawning jute bug, and you'd have 3-4 bots camped on every spawn site constantly harvesting, I used to pull bull netches onto them in Stonefalls all the time. It wasn't really that effective (there were just too many of them), but it was satisfying.

I don't think you would have to worry about making a second or third report on a bot as long as a reasonable length of time passed, like once a day if you notice it. They may have done something about it and it came back. Some of the bot names I saw back in the first few weeks of release are convoluted enough that I am not going to remember it from day to the next.

Abusing the reporting system is more like reporting a player for legitimately beating you in PvP or just reporting a player because you don't like them so you decide to make up stuff to get them banned.

It's not uncommon to see people grinding CP points out of the way with a macro there are spots in-game where you can have your character remain stationary and with just a simple macro which holds down the light attack button, you can grind champion points.

The Mephala Undaunted set was likely designed specifically to fulfil this purpose.

People have been grinding champion points this way for a long time, it wont change, using a macro is not the same as using a bot.

Wait until you see them on the fields of Cyrodiil in three months time where they've only played for 12 hours out of those three months.
