New Forum Idea: "Suggestion" forum

I'd like to see a new forum specifically for suggestions for the game. This would make it possible for ideas not to get drowned out from other stuff in the other forums.

well there is for crown store and well lets face it every suggestion that people want gets its own thread every other week so its not like they go unnoticed or anything

That's a great idea those are the kind of threads I post and come here to read. There are some great ideas out there the community have come up with and it would be convenient to have them in one place. It would also make the job of finding things for the developers to discuss in the armchair segment easier.

Right on. On forums for other games that I've played, ideas get lost in in a sea of posts and it's hard for players and developers to sort through everything in such a disorganized situation.

Then again, in one of the games I've played they ditched the suggestions forum. It was a sea with suggestions, where nobody but devs and suggestion givers go. So the actual suggestions where never discussed among other players.

Some suggestions (that arise in most games) are discutable. A good example is open world duelling. A minority (atleast in the games I play) likes this, while for a majority (again, in the games I play), it is disliked or even a game breaker. So besides having suggestions it is also important to have them discussed.

I truly think that all major suggestions are being heard by ZoS and are either on the table, or put off the table with good reasons.

I'd be willing to have a segregated community of if meant the devs were more involved.

I think this is an awesome idea! I would love to see more dev involvement on the forums but everything seems to be pretty hush hush as far as scheduled releases of content.

There used to be a suggestion forum, but it was fairly quiet. Test Server and General Forums serve that purpose.

I wonder what happens to General Chat if they do it? This is kind of big suggestion place.

Individual threads usually have a specific theme, but within that can cover a lot of ground in how its being discussed: suggestions, criticism, feedback, debate, et cetera. Having a specific forum for suggestions raises questions about where these mixed discussions belong, and potentially leads to multiple threads talking about the same thing but with different starting points.

We feel that thematic forums manage this better. It's true, some forums aren't super active, and while posting there means your thread is less likely to be buried, it's potentially seen by fewer people. We have some plans to better balance activity throughout the forums that should help with this. Granted, this would be an issue with a "Suggestions" forum as well, probably even a larger one.

Looking at the front page, a "suggestion" forum seems like a really great and needed idea.

You people DO realize all that would do is make it so the general forums would look cleaner.

They would never ACTUALLY do any of the suggestions from that forum, no MMO does.

It would NOT mean "more" dev involvment, it would not change a thing.

Yes sir, I do realize exactly that ( a clean up). I don't expect the devs to answer in the least with the exception being something they already planned and had in the works, but can claim it was "listening".

The general section has more "suggestions" than anything... showing a need for a condensed location.

We've just added a new forum for Crown Store and ESO Plus. This is open to everyone to discuss, and make suggestions for future Crown Store content.

This should move many of the suggestion threads out of General Discussion. Additionally, we are more aggressively moving threads out of GD and into the appropriate subforums. A technical issue previously prevented this at scale, and it was resolved earlier this week.

It's worth noting, general suggestion threads are still appropriate for the GD forum. As explained earlier in this thread, we don't feel that a specific Suggestion forum would work alongside the thematic forums we already have. However, we also believe that these recent changes will result in more organized and navigable forums, and promote discussions in some of the quieter areas.

Sweet as Alan and i know i have ask you about the mobile forums like a mad hatter.
But it has been down for an insane amount of time lol unless you guys are making a phone app that includes it then all good.

We don't have any updates on the mobile forum theme at this time.

We're investigating our options with the current theme, or replacing it with a new one. However, at the moment both themes have problems that prevent them from being deployed. We're working with Vanilla Forums to get this resolved, but don't have an ETA at this time.
