- Having fun outside city ( Friends ,new people ,and guild mates )

- Making new friends and meeting new people

- Duels can only happen outside city walls into the world

- For people who dont want to duel , option to disable dueling would be provided

If we were spread over a dozen servers per geographic, maybe.

But on one server, this would just contribute to PVE lag.

I don't see why anyone would vote no.

Not only does it add content to the game, it allows people to test their builds/equipment in a controlled environment. One could even take it as far as allowing people to place bets on such duels.

To all the nay sayers, there could be specified places where people could duel, challenge arena's across the map so to say, out of the way from people that are not interested in such things.

Regardless, it's more content, so why not?

There are friends I would like to adventure with and cross swords with. Dueling within a faction allows both.

I only voted no because the time it would take to make it fun would be overkill. Not within the cities, not where guards and npcs could get dragged into the fights for trolling purposes, no blind "duel meee!" invites. It would be fun and I'd say yes if it were, for example, in an enclosed training ground on Fighter's Guild property. It could even be fun for military RP guilds to have training sessions. There's just a lot of other stuff I'd rather see before this.

Well worth the time for general fun factor. Being able to test your skills against another player, tournaments, etc. there is no down side.

Yes. As it stands right now, organizing duels in Cyrodiil is a big pain in the butt and subject to ruin, the moment someone who's not aware of what's going on or just doesn't care, rides by. Trying to find any small scale fights in Cyrodiil is pretty much a pain. I'd like a place to hone my pvp skills and zerg/keep fights don't exactly provide that.

I really don't understand the nay sayers.
"But it'll take away from Cyrodiils population." So you suggest they force players to remain in Cyrodiil to amuse you?
"But it'll take away from developers time to develop things I care about." So you're saying they should never make this available to all the players who would enjoy this, because you don't care about it?

i disargree with these two you should have a accept duel option not just random guys murdering u while your in the woods
you should be able to do it anywhere but you should get a small bounty if its in town also there shoould be a betting system if i win i get this money or this item then they put it in some sort of thing and the winner gets it

Yes.... but after significant further content releases, outside normal areas in cities, with an option to opt-out of receiving invites permanently.

If they can meet all three of those criteria then I would be happy to see them add this.

Only if they include a toggle to auto-reject duel invitations. The last thing we need is people spamming duel challenges in population hubs.

Id also like to add a small request for training dummies while Im here. Every MMO should have them, and most successful ones do.

I'm going take the middle ground here and say I don't care if others want it then add it for them,but I don't want random people trying to duel me.

As a preference, I would like to see instanced areas for dueling/tournaments. Smaller ones for 1v1 arena fights, and then larger ones that could facilitate larger guild organized battles.

Some of the pledge dungeons could be used as a 4v4 PvP ground with special objectives. Maybe something like "plant this artifact here for some reason," or "get this player to a certain location before your enemy assassinates them." Kinda like a small scale scroll run.

id LOVE duels! itd be cooler if they release it as part of new content tho and give it a storyline/reason or something. missed opportunity with just randomly slapping on legerdemain and champ system i reckon. tho i understand why they did it (especially the champ system) as it was needed/wanted in a hurry. but for example ud think the champ system would be tied to craglorn with being related to the stars and stuff

I play ESO for the PVE. I personally don't care about pvp and the only time I have been in cyrodiil is for skyshards/books/delves/quests.

This argonian doesn't care about the war or what faction you are from. If you pay good gold, he'll do whatever job you have.

We all had that guy follow us in our previous MMOs almost on the whole map starting with "please, just one fight" and ending with "chicken" and rude emotes when we ignored them. Also there is no point for duels cause the game is not 1v1 pvp and that would cause more of "nerf this ability/class" posts.

Almost all of the objections posted in the comments could be mitigated by smart design choices.

Opt-in setting for duels, special locations for duels, and a statement from ZOS saying that they balance the classes for AvA combat. Just because they allow duels does not mean they are going to re-balance the game for 1v1.

At some point rather fast, that would have irritated me somewhat and I would have turned round and slaughtered him, hehe.

Well if there was a option to block for the hardcore PvE`ers that that would be fine, so it does not take it away from any of us who may like such a thing.

And tbh both camps are responsible for nerf this or nerf that threads.

We all play the game, we all got a right to play how we want.

I am a hybrid player who enjoys PvE and PvP, at least in PvP its dynamic unlike scripted and predicable NPC`s.

IMO anyways
