Imperial Edition or not?

I am still torn between buying the Imperial Edition or the normal one..The difference is 10 euro on PS store, but the overal price is still too much...so some might say 10 euro is not much a difference but I see it like 70 euro is already very much to pay and imperial cost 80...

The thing is that I don't plan playing Imperial race...I like Breton race the most, aesthetically mostly. Are the rest of the perks worth the increase price? I heard that the horse is not good at all and has very minor speed increase compared to foot, plus is better to walk so to gather objectives in the world.

The only thing I still don't know is if the imperial crafting armor look beautiful or not..is there anywhere pictures of Imperial armor to see? And generally, do you think Imperial edition worth the extra money?

There is not only playable imperial race benefit.
You can even play any race in any faction.
I think imp.edition is a good for new account.

From what you're saying, probably not.

The horse doesn't matter so much anymore as mounts are just skins now with no bonuses. You train your Riding skill on a character now instead and horses are available for ingame gold.

Imperial character is not required to craft Imperial armor. You can find a motif ingame to let you craft it or buy one from a player.

Imperial armor is kind of Roman looking

eso-fashion.com/ is a site to look at the different armor styles.

Here is a thought, you could buy the standard edition, then later on add those features through a crown store purchase, that way you don't have to put up the money up front and then you can decide if you want to even add it later, just an idea.

@Xendyn oh, thanks for the link..great site with all the armors on the game, exactly what I needed!

@LameoveR I can play any race in any faction with the other version too..I think this is a pre-order perk and not tight to specific edition..

Yes horses start out not much faster than foot, but you can upgrade them via daily training at the stables. Eventually they end much faster Note that these upgrades apply to all horses that you own and so all horses are now equal in terms of speed. So the Imperial horse just saves you some gold and gives you a mount earlier than you otherwise would on your first character.

The Imperial race might not be of interest to you now, but you might find it's the best fit for certain class / build combinations. Appearance wise they aren't too disimilar to Breton. Several of my characters are Breton and Imperial and I've got similar looks on several of them (minor differences of course).

You can view the Imperial armour at eso-fashion.com. Note that you can convert any crafted armour to Imperial style if you have the Imperial edition. Whilst there is an Imperial motif in the game to allow anyone to craft Imperial gear, it is very rare and expensive to buy from other players. If you like the way Imperial armour looks I wouldn't recommend relying on this method, it's better to just get the upgrade.

False. Playing any race in any alliance doesn't have anything to do with Imperial Edition. It was a pre-order bonus and now is available as an upgrade in the crown store.

The Imperial horse never had any bonuses, so its value is the same as before: having a horse right away instead of scrounging up money for the brown one. Though the basic horse is now 10k instead of 17k, so you can buy it earlier.

@Cernow Thanks for the input. I see..it might be worth it then.I am not able to try imperial now to see if I can make a good looking character and I made a very good breton character that I like and also kept the slider in pictures..But as you said, maybe in the future I ll want to play Imperial too..

Main differences are that Breton faces can be made slightly softer as Imperial is a little more angular. Breton can have fairer skin, Imperials lean towards olive skin. Breton hair colour choices are lighter and more vibrant (especially the reds), Imperial hair colours are generally duller. Other than that they share the same min-max heights and slider options for hairstyles, body markings etc. So it all depends what sort of look you're going for and whether this translates across the two races.

Thank you Rosveen. I have seen that misquoted by Imperial edition owners over and over and you are right - it comes from the Explorer pack, not the Imperial.

Also, people need to note that the Imperial edition grants Imperial crafting style for that account only. If you want to trade Imperial crafted gear, you still need the motif.

If someone has no interest in playing an Imperial, I really would not bother with buying that edition.

I didn't and am glad I didn't. It is simply down to whether you want to play an Imperial or not. The extra purchase cost of the Edition can be spent on a month's sub and then you can buy whichever mount you want with those crowns, rather than the insipid white one. It was probably worth it when the game was issued, but not so much now if you are looking at a new purchase.

I'd say it's only worth it if you want to roll a melee stamina build that's not a dragonknight, and even then Redguard is just as good until you decide not to be pure melee anymore.

For any other build there are just as good or better racial options and nothing else in the Imperial edition is worth much.

Out of eight characters I only have one Imperial, a 2H/DW nightblade, and the only other combo I would recommend is a melee Templar because Dunmer is really a better choice overall for DK, archers are better off as bosmer and sorcs should really be magicka based now.

This is not entirely true. An imperial character can craft imperial style armor for anyone. If you have the imperial edition and you make a Breton your crafter then you do indeed need the imperial motif.

IMO - It's totally worth the extra cost. The option to play as imperial or other races in other factions will only enhance your experience. If the cost isn't prohibitive I'd say just do it. I doubt there will be any regret. Imperials rock for most stam builds BTW. Just sayin.

Chances are imperial race will be added to the crown store at some point. There is NO OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THIS but it kind of makes sense.

I think it already is. with 2100 crowns you can upgrade to imperial edition. On my local stores I can buy 60 days time card for 16 euro...thats 3.000 crowns for 16 euro..so if I later buy the imperial upgrade will "cost" 11,2 euro. But the point is that if I don't buy at the start I doubt I will spend my crowns for the upgrade later cause there will be much more juicy things to buy :)

    are you a min-maxer?

coz Imp race is OP thanks to their passive.

    that's it.

imp armor you can simply google or find a site called something like, "eso fashion".

I got the Imperial Edition and I think it was worth it.

I originally got it for the horse, which is less useful than it used to be now you can buy one from the crown store for 900 crowns and use it on all your characters right from the start. But I still like having it.

The other thing I found useful early on was the ability to change almost any armour piece into the Imperial style. It's not my favourite style but it's nice to have an alternative when I find ugly armour with good stats.

I wasn't originally planning to make an Imperial, but then I decided I wanted a crafting character with all the motifs unlocked and making him an Imperial saves having to buy that one.
