If you devs could get right on that I'd appreciate it. I'd like to play an ice mage. Thanks!

Fire and Electricity are covered. A frost staff isn't the same as a line of frost spells.

This will probably be doable with Spellcrafting. How long we have to wait, though, dunno.

It's more accurate to say Electricity is covered by the Sorceror Class. Fire and Frost can only come off the staff with specific active effects pertaining to the element.

Fire on Dragonknights... Shock on Sorcerers.
Maybe they SHOULD have Frost on Necromancers, if only so my Nord passives are actually useful for something... ;D

Nope. What about that spell that shoots a slow (but hard hitting) carpet of ice across the floor? Ghosts/wraiths use this ability sometimes, too.

he has a point though. there are fire and electric "SKILLS" but no frost skills. as well as its not the same as just using the staff cause that limits you to 2-3 skills lol.

would love to see more skill lines added lol

They should just add necromancer class featuring 3 skill lines
    1. Necromancy
    2. Frost
    3. Poison
    Or something like that.

Think you want a Cryomancer, unless you're after a Mage that specializes in percussion spells.

Spell crafting is on hold and doubt much has been done with that (think how long ago they mentioned jewelry crafting). But yes, there is an ice staff and that is about it for now.
    Really, idk

I still like my class morph best for getting to cryomancer... it would make a very viable choice for morphing sorceror class, adding a fourth skill line of ice spells. With necromancer and spellsword as other choices, perhaps.

I tried to make a Frost Mage (Cryomancer) w/ my Sorc.

Her only frost spells are Frost Reach and Ice Comet, though.

I could also have used Frost Blockade and Elemental Ring, but both of these are kinda terrible these days. : /

Those are literally the only "frost" spells in the entire game.

    Dragon Knight

The Dragon Knight Class does not have a Line of Fire that the Pyromancers use nor can they produce multiple Flame AoE

What I can see is that none of the enemy Mage Skills are really reproducible except for their light attacks. The Tempests use an extended version of Bolt Escape as an attack and the Menders use an extended version of BOL. The Staff Attacks and Skills are in no way comparable, in truth, to most of the Enemy Mage effects.

Perhaps not the exact same spells that those specific NPCs use, but they certainly do have plenty of fire-based spells that can be used to create a Pyromancer-type player character.

Same can be said for an Electromancer.

This can not be said of any class when trying to create a Cryomancer-type player character.

I've always been fascinated with Cryomancers - so using a hybrid storm/frost build with my level 17 sorc. It's not doing too bad actually.

    The idea

While Frost does not deal as much damage as Fire, or have the AoE capabilities of lightning, you can use it to your advantage to slow enemies down and chill them, giving you room to stay out of reach while focusing one target at a time.

Plant liquid lightning to get their attention and kick off a DoT.
Elemental Blockade will severely slow them down, keeping them in range of your liquid lightning area. Use destructive reach to chill the mages in the area so they continue receiving damage. If a warrior gets too close, chill them with destructive reach and finish the mages off. Spamming Mages Wrath to get your crystal frags proc up. Once it procs, I'll generally focus it on the enemies with the most health as this does monster damage, then you can use mages wrath to finish off low hp targets while dealing damage around them once that procs. Always use reach to chill targets that are up in your face, and blockade to slow ones down running at you. It gives you a bit more time to compose yourself and plan your next attack wisely.
If you feel like you need more Frost effects for your Cryo feel, grab Impulse and spam it near those with low health. It looks freaking awesome too.

    Final thoughts

While this build is merely for RP as a Cryomancer, it does work pretty well. I've been using it for a while, and once you learn how to keep your enemies at bay with the speed malus of frost, it becomes extremely useful.
Use a resto staff on your second bar for some heals, or if you're able, grab power surge for extra spell damage and to heal you on those crits.

If you went necro you'd be more apt to use withering, undead, cold, and obviously raising dead, poison is more alchemy. I could see cone of colds,2-3 undead "pets". For an ultimate could be a dragon priest or lich type effect.as far as spellcrafting, I think we all be dead before that's sees introduction.
Raising floors and lower ceilings by zos standards has created an iron maiden.
No matter how well you played, when the game is over, the king and pawn go back in the same box.
Be careful what you ask for from zo$, you always get punished.

Necromancy - Raising dead, Absorbing essence (health, magicka) from the recently fallen, passives for filling soul gems

    Withering - Debuffs, runes

Cryomancy - Frost related spells for offence and defence

Ultimates could be something like summoning a flesh atronach, transforming into a lich wielding 2 powerful spells (one in each hand), and a blizzard that deals decent DoTs with a slow effect.
