Dual wield weapon enchants

If both weapons have the same enchant, do they share a cooldown? In other words, should I use different enchants on each weapon?

Or anyone know a way I can test? What is the normal cooldown on weapon enchants, anyway?

When I tested it some months ago, it sure felt like the same enchants shared the same cooldown. Don't know how it is after 1.6.
    Regardless, enchants suck.

Cooldown is per-weapon. They have their own individual cooldowns (which can be reduced by set-bonuses, or gemstones built into the weapon itself).
Normal cooldown is about 3 or 4sec.

Each weapons charge is used at a different rate, so I'm pretty sure they act independently.

Ok so I just went ahead and tested it for a few minutes.

Here is a fight with two swords both enchanted with fire:

And here is a fight with one fire enchant and one frost:

    2zz5o5x.png

I suppose some variation is to be expected due to RNG, but I was able to proc both fire and ice within a much shorter time than I have ever been able to proc two fire swords.

So it seems that two enchants of a similar element do share a cooldown, which would mean that I should use different enchants on each weapon or else one of them is wasted. Unless someone is seeing something I missed?

And here is one using shock and frost. Notice that the enchants actually proc on consecutive light attacks, something that I've never done so far using the same enchant on both weapons:

On a side note, I noticed that Blood Craze only ever procs the offhand weapon enchant. The main hand enchant will never proc. Since the ability is hitting with both weapons at once, as per the description, shouldn't it have a chance to proc the main hand weapon, if not proc both at the same time?

Interesting. Thanks for sharing this Valymer.

@Valymer, I do not believe that is the case on the technical side, but flavour text.

The ability will animate two weapons, and the damage will done in the form of two separate numbers. But as far as their code architecture is concerned, it will be from one weapon specifically.

@snackrat Are you talking about the Blood Craze thing?

    Yes, that you posted yesterday.
Maybe from a logic standpoint it should proc both, but from a technical standpoint I doubt that is feasible.

What I found interesting is that you specified off-hand weapon, which makes me wonder if that means the damage is scaled off the off-hand, as well... hmm.

Given we are on the subject of weapon enchants. Since we have two slots available and people can equip a sword and shield or two weapons OR a single double handed weapon/stuff does that mean I am missing out on an enchantment if I am using a double weapon?

2 identical weapon enchantments share the same cooldown, so its useless to have 2 of the same type.

Same goes for Master Dagger. 2 Are useless, nor the bleed and the weap dmg buff do stack.

Do not remember which enchantment procs off of which form of attack, but with Dual Wield one weapon enchantment only procs on skill usage and the other only procs on left-click attacks.
At least that is what my testing revealed pre 1.6; have not tested since then to see if anything changed.

Perhaps it has changed then, because spamming nothing but consecutive light attacks procs both enchants for me now, as you can see in the images above. But maybe you are onto something as far as abilities only proccing one of the enchants (offhand, it would seem). Interesting.

If Light Attacks are now proccing both enchantments, would presume that skills not activating both is a bug or otherwise unintended.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom or @ZOS_GinaBruno could someone from the company provide us with insight into how Dual Wield enchantments are intended to work and whether their current behaviour is in line with that?
