Dueling and small team pvp.

I think dueling needs to be added to give me a reason to care about the players around me. I don't care about their armor or their skill or anything when I enter a city. I just go in and do what I needed to do and then leave. It would be nice if I had a reason to stand around a city and watch people fight. Gives me a reason to socialize. Also small scale pvp would be an awesome addition. Capture the flag, TDM, or Arenas. These PVP modes would add so much to the game. I like World PVP, but if you are on a bad server it is a pretty bad experience. I rarely find people to fight or when I do I get jumped. There is no chance for any one on one or small groups.

    Dueling are in game. Anyone in Cyro can do it. There is only a few whiners who cant think of anything other then press buttons to do anything. They have to DO something to do what they want!?!?!!? The nerve!

    Yea it sounded like you were mad.. Also you can't duel anywhere besides fighting in Cyrodil. Which I mean if that's how they want it then fine. I'm just saying dueling and small scale pvp would be an awesome addition to this game.

    They can't add small teams pvp or duelling until they balance everything.

    Imagine a team of 4 "normal" guys versus a team of those tankydpshealer/shield stackers/wrecking blow spammers/high CP farmers, etc. (you can add any of the many stupid things found in PVP) It will be a disaster.

    They are already annoying but at least in large scale PVP their power is dimmed by the mass in the important battles, which would not be the case on a smaller scale where they would be more visible, unkillable except against another OP team and they would disgust many players of small scale pvp in a week.

    P.S : I have nothing against those players, I know the real culprits are Zenimax who gives those possibilities.

    There is no duelling system in Cyrodiil, you fight against other factions. If you want to practice one vs one against friends for example you can't do that unless your friend levels an alt on a different faction, then you need to find a quiet spot with no one around and try to fight without killing each other.

    Yep if you want to duel your buddy on the same faction, one of you have to reroll on a seperate faction and grind it out to VR14, then you have to go do the dungeons and hopefully get the drops so you can get a build to mirror your original characters build...


    Not like... a press of the button can skip that whole tedious anti fun, anti social, dated mechanic... ohh wait.

    Duelling, as in, mutually agreed upon one-on-one battles between players regardless of being in the same fraction or justice system status (once they implement the PvP portion of that one), should be added to the game. Should have been in the game from the start, but since it wasn't, it should at least be retrofitted soon.

    Though I would wish that duelling within the city limits, be it in the bank or behind the church, would draw the attention of the cardinals guard... uhm... I mean, the city guard. It'd only be logical the guard would break up any fight...

    Out in the wild, duel away!


    PvP Arenas and such... would be a great addition for those who want more flavor of PvP then just cyrodil! If done right. I'd hate to have it like the usual "enter queue, teleport to arena, fight, teleport back", I would want an "neutral territory" arena region where people of all factions can meet, sign up for a fight, do their arena battle, and have some fluff around it instead of just "...'porting to the action"

    More flavorful PvP, capture the flag battles, whatever... that too would be neat, though I would like to see it done as opening a new region of cyrodil (the current one is not yet covering all of oblivion cyrodil after all, still the nibenay basin and the colovian highlands to the gold coast to go I guess, that's two possible PvP regions to go, and of course there is imperial city too...) with varied objectives instead of just "take the keep".

    But I suppose those would take a bit more work, and thus might have to wait some more time...

    Dueling I could care less about, but I don't care if it is in game as long as there is an auto decline, got so tired of getting random duel invites in other games, because I don't waste my time dueling.

    This is the chance for Zenimax to create something new. I haven't played a game like ESO before with its fighting system and other things. They could add small scale pvp and arenas in a way that we have never experienced it. Maybe that would make more players happy instead of just using the pvp other MMOs always use.

    Those balance issues in "small team pvp" exist in every mmo except for GW2. But even if it was a reason for not implementing some form of structured pvp, it is not a reason for not having duels.

    For me duels are a tool to improve fighting/builds in Cyrodiil, as well as to have fun with my friends. I think it would be a great addition to the current flavour of the game and not have any downside- especially if duels were limited to certain duelling areas.

    Dueling isn't even hard to implement. We already have a ton of arenas in the game that can be reused or altered for the use of instanced dueling.
