You will still have all your characters on pc, so if your friends quit you can just go back. The transfer is just a copy, but after the copy progressing between two platforms will not be shared.

I'm aware of that. That is the problem. If I play on xbox for a few months and then return to PC I would lose all that progress, which is unacceptable.

This has been a very good perspective because they require we link the two accounts to transfer but seemingly won't allow ppl to "sub" for a constant PC to console and console to PC syncing of all character progress.
Just saying that ESO plus isn't really valuable for $15/month BuT this is way more valuable ans by definition is ESO "Plus"
