    Is it, really?

Your post would be getting lit up with them.

It's all good though...everyone just uses insightful instead of using it for its actual intended purpose.

Nope sorry, not everyone is using insightful. The number of lol lots of people had were significantly higher then the insightfuls. Nice try tho.

I got two insightful's for that post you're quoting, and I doubt they gave me them because they found my post genuinely insightful.

And a whopping chunk of gold and XP:

It really is quite silly. I can't imagine a less appropriate award. C'mon man!
But .. but .. you get an EPIC WEAPON, which of course due to the way it's selected means there's a 66% chance it'll be no good for you!

Of course, after completing it once and figuring out how the weapon is selected then you have a better chance of getting a useful one with your next character.

The least ZOS could have done was make it a 'gold' item, God knows for many players it would be their first and quite possibly only 'gold' one for a long time.

Lots of effort, little reward. How do they expect people to stay?

You didn't put any unrewarded effort into finishing that questline though.

Cadwell's Silver and Gold simply represent your finishing the main lines of the other factions in the game. It's not like you weren't rewarded along the way for completing that content.

Bah. Finishing Gold is a milestone. The end of an epic journey. Or as some would say, the end of a huge grind. No matter what your taste is, finishing gold is a milestone worthy of a very nice reward. This reward is soo underwhelming it's actually insulting. No reward at all would be easier to swallow than the notion that someone at ZOS actually thinks 5k xp and a vendor trash amulet is even remotely appropriate.

It should end in an epic, climatic fashion like good stories do. This ending does nothing but remind us that gold and silver were a cobbled together afterthought.

    [/quote]

should get the costume from fighting Molag Bal and have an entirely different one as emp reward.

It would be amusing to find that Cadwell, despite wearing a saucepan for a helmet, actually has several sets of uber armour and he grants you a piece for completing silver and another for completing gold, with the two pieces making a useful set.

And have them level up as you do (if ZoS can do this for potions then they should be able to for gear), so you don't just trash them as soon as you level up.

Though when this topic was first raised, many months ago, there was a rumour that said that if you took Meridia's gift back to your starter island and asked around you could find an old woman who'd tell you Cadwell's story. If you gave her the pendant then she'd give you buckets of treasure :)

Yes! i totally agree. Thank you. I posted about this a while ago (here) and no one agreed.

What's the point of even having the Silver and Gold quests? As someone mentioned above you can get more XP from just killing a couple groups of mobs.

Just how long are you going to be killing how many mobs to get 10m XP .. without using an XP exploit? Given ZOS nerfed to Oblivion all the Craglorn XP spots as well as most others, grinding 10M to get to VR10 then anoth 4M to get to VR14 seems somewhat less than enticing.

    No, not really.

Imagine for a second the amount of work and time one must invest to get to that point. Then look at it again. Look at it.

In comparison, I can get similarly valued necklace and XP and gold by doing any other "major quest" that gives you a skill point. Takes.... 10 minutes on average. Blue reward and a skill point with some gold.

But the reward of spending hours and being immersed in such a great ride of an adventure.... is THAT?

Come on. If that's not ego? What is it? Laziness?

Hell - even a trophy item would be nice. Someone posted something about Caldwell's Helmet. How about that? Use the trophy to put the helmet on your and /salute?

How about a tiny little Oblivion shard with a Caldwell-esque home on it? Shouldn't be more than a little shack (or even half-shack) - remember - Caldwell see's what he WANTS to see....

Please don't make me be the only one creating reward ideas for this....

ESO needs more 2007 EQ 2 type quest lines and rewards, and far less Wow here is your cookie. Quest lines that mix solo with VR dungeon and trial that will upgrade and morph items to something more then just materials or 23 gold from the merchant. ESO needs a lot of work in the itemization department.

. . . sometimes NPCs during quests just sit around doing nothing, so I have to wonder why

Well, they WOULD come help you to find their daughter/brother/mother/sister--but these cows need to be milked and their arm got hurt in the attack and the army won't let them and they're not much of a fighter and there is a magical barrier stopping them. But they WANT to help you, though.

At least you get something, although a resell value in the neighborhood of 280 would make it feel worth something.

This is still a better reward than what you get for sitting through the three Hobbit movies or reading the three Fifty Shades books. I'm not sure those feelings of post-consumption emptiness can ever be filled.
