I get such a kick out of this every time I finish Cadwell's Gold. In a nutshell, this is a glaring example of one category where ESO really dropped the ball.

Your reward for Countless hours and around 50 quests:

And a whopping chunk of gold and XP:

It really is quite silly. I can't imagine a less appropriate award. C'mon man!

Exactly! This reward should be EPIC! Something that you would actually use or hold onto because it ROCKS!

Not some crappy blue item you wouldn't even put on your pet monkey. And you can get 5k XP and 300g from killing a handful of mobs... which btw will likely drop a better item in the process.

I was VERY angry when i got it.

I expected at least a gold item or a container of improvement mats for all the crafts or something like that

Add approximately 100 more levels. This is the reward for finishing all 3 alliances.

What? Either you're confused, or I'm confused (or both!) or else they sure must have nerfed xp while leveling if you were able to do all of Cadwell's Silver and Gold before hitting 50! Gawd I miss the LOL button :D

Your post would be getting lit up with them.

It's all good though...everyone just uses insightful instead of using it for its actual intended purpose.

It 'should' have been something like a complete end game golden set that is bound on pickup and scaled to your toon for both vet rank with a choice of heavy, medium or light and weapons choice etc. Similar to that on the PTS server.

Something like that would have been worth it, but just that necklace.... urgh.

Yeah, disappointing. I wouldn't have minded if it was something at least a little interesting, like a sweet costume. Maybe you could have 3 different ones, and every time you complete Gold, you get a chance at one of the three. At least that way, you'd have the tiniest bit of incentive to replay the zones on another character. It's not much, but it's better than a silly amulet I'm going to sell off to some Argonian vendor named Wastes-Your-Time.

The rewards for Cadwell's Silver and Gold are pathetic to say the least. A much better reward would have been a box containing three pieces of legendary quality jewelry (VR5 or VR10 depending on the quest). The three pieces should be a necklace and two rings. The necklace should have a Health enchantment with the Healthy trait. One ring should have a Magicka enchantment with the Arcane trait. The other ring should have a Stamina enchantment with the Robust trait. Not only that; but the jewelry should all belong to a three piece set named after Meridia that bestows a special power or buff, such as +8% Health, Magicka and Stamina Recovery.

Players should want to use these rewards instead of instantly selling them to a vendor and forgetting they every existed.

Well, you kind of also got a couple hundred skill points, a metric buttload of XP and access to all the other factions' content.

So why would you want a quest reward that would inevitably be replaced by your first piece of VR12 dungeon gear?

You didn't put any unrewarded effort into finishing that questline though.

Cadwell's Silver and Gold simply represent your finishing the main lines of the other factions in the game. It's not like you weren't rewarded along the way for completing that content.

Bah. Finishing Gold is a milestone. The end of an epic journey. Or as some would say, the end of a huge grind. No matter what your taste is, finishing gold is a milestone worthy of a very nice reward. This reward is soo underwhelming it's actually insulting. No reward at all would be easier to swallow than the notion that someone at ZOS actually thinks 5k xp and a vendor trash amulet is even remotely appropriate.

It should end in an epic, climatic fashion like good stories do. This ending does nothing but remind us that gold and silver were a cobbled together afterthought.

So I agree with both sides of the discussion.

On the one hand, you got plenty of rewards along the way. XP, skill points, gold, gear, and the actual experiences. On the other hand, that last quest turn-in is a chance to give the player something really cool and they just don't, at all.

It doesn't have to be gold gear. Just something more unique and interesting. An amulet you can actually see on your character, or a costume, or a new emote, unique set pieces, a new skill line... something really monumental, something worthy of what the player has achieved.

I can understand if you don't want good gear dropped to ruin is for trials etc, that is true. But what about a costume with some base stats+ when equipped.

Something similar to the Emperor costume, in look and feel. Yes, it is a big deal as you've 'finished' the game's story line... so to speak.

Hell, even a cut scene animation would have been more welcome than that stupid, dopey necklace.

the XP can be gotten from grinding one zone for a few days.

some of us do not want to do all the fations content in one character. If i want to do Ads stuff, I will make an Ad character

i will not deny the skill points, but they are not enough compensation.

its 3 months work for essentially nothing but skill points, which sucks:(

make the reward scale, that way one could save the last quest till they are max rank then get it.

Might as well get rid of quest rewards altogether. After all, you were rewarded through mob drops.
Might as well get rid of mob drops. After all, the experience of combat is its own reward.

When I beat the fighter's guild quest, I got a unique weapon that is pretty powerful in the right situations.

Can't be hard to think of something similar.

"Congrats, dear boy/fair lady. Well, Merida hasn't left me much of a reward for all that work, but for you, I tip my hat"

*BING! Get Cadwell's hat as a costume. *

The end of Caldwells gold is the biggest let down of the game. Forcing yourself through mind numbingly boring and absolutely non challenging face roll on the key board combat for two alliance zones only to get some piece of crap gear and an insulting amount of gold and xp.

The end of the story lines are all anti climatic and the lead npc's barely if at all acknowledge all the crap your character had to go through, then fizzles out into nothing.
    Meh...**** it..
  • Dre4dwolfb14_ESO
I get more XP for killing 5 mobs with one AOE blast in 3.5 sec (including the time it took to pull).

    The quest seems somewhat pointless.

    I mentioned this before

ALL QUEST XP AND GOLD NEEDS TO BE 20Xto50X greather than it is now.
There is no point to doing quests, the lore isn't even that interesting, I play with the sound off and dubstep playing in the background ^^ . . . sometimes NPCs during quests just sit around doing nothing, so I have to wonder why , and its usually an NPC sitting there "catching its breath" or "wait to hear what XXXX has to say about XXXX" and then the quest concludes. . . like wtf . . . then you click the thing and here is . . . about 10s worth of xp and gold and some useless item you dont need for the 10 minutes you just burned.

Seriously devs, do yourself a favor
Shut the servers down, go into the script that controls the multiplier for quest rewards and add us some 3 zeros after that number so we can have some quest rewards that are atleast in the ballpark of where they should be for time invested. . . . or shrink the damned XP bar. . . 1KK Xp for VR1 is stupid.

You do quests and just give up and go grind because 3 mobs gives more XP than entire 30 minute long quest chains.
