5 hours and not one Nirn?

5 straight hours farming upper crag and not 1 nirn, that is beyond ***. Those kind of odds are only going to cause people to leave the game.

I did the same thing recently and realized that it is much better now to grind Cyrodiil or Cadwell's Gold mobs for the same amount of time because you get good exp and gold/drops that you can use to just buy nirncrux.

Craglorn exp was nerfed and the drop rate for nirncrux is far too low to make farming it worthwhile. You can make 13k gold easily in just a couple hours grinding mobs and get good exp too.

There's a term for this:
rare drop rate

It means it drops rarely.

Sorry to be a smarta$$ but it's a rare drop. Otherwise, I'd have nirn gear traits all known by now.

And you got SOMETHING for it - if you mined nodes for the nirn proc, then you got normal ore/herbs/etc, right?

RNG, baby.

You can go for days without seeing nirncrux, then find 3 or 4 in a few hours. I'm living proof.

The other day I was trying to buy 1 piece of nirncrux in zone chat and the guy wanted 1k more than I wanted to pay so I ported up to Dragonstar and less than 5 minutes later I had one. That said, the other 4 I had took hours and hour of farming.

It's just a matter of time spent vs. reward.

Before the Champion System there wasn't much you could do with EXP, so farming nodes for hours and getting little to no exp didn't really feel like a waste. But now, your time is much better spent grinding mobs because you will be gaining CP and getting plenty of gold to buy the nirncrux.
