How it is possible that two my characters has different progression towards the next champoin point?

When I log in on two different veteran rank characters, I have different amount of champion XP earned:

Here is a Hint for you to get more champion points and gold,
Rotate using your characters and have two different characters that steal.
Those lock/safe boxes add up when it comes to XP and gold.
I have my main that steals and then I also have a dedicated crafter, who is also a thief.
over the course of three to four nights of stealing my Crafter gained a Champion point from picking just Lock/safe boxes..Signed,

Note- for those that don't know how to say Kotaro Atani it's "Ko tar row Ah ta ni" (Ko with a Oh sound, tar which sounds like the sticky black tar stuff, row like rowing a boat, Ah with a AHHHH sound, Ta with a Tahhh sound, Neeee which sounds like knee)
Things ZOS needs to Fix:"Lag in PvP" / AOE's need to run for their time stated in the Tool Tip, especially Ultimate's / Smart drops are still not smart / Fix it ZOS, fix it.

Well to be fair, they did kinda rip it directly from D3's paragon system...all the way down to having different groups to spend points in and being forced to rotate between them. I'm sure they'll get around to making it more their own sooner or later. -
Eliteseraph✭✭✭That's what disappoints me most. The blatant copy/paste without innovation. Emulation and iteration are fine as long as they take things forward and improve upon the previous step. But too many games just get lazy with design and copy without thought. Xithian✭✭✭There was a logical progression for a while. EQ had the AA system, which was per character. Several other games made attempts at that, with various success. Then the account wide AA systems started popping up. The first one I remember noticing was in Borderlands. At the end of the chain is D3's paragon system, and ESO's champion system is so close to it that it makes me cringe. Still, it's a good idea. I just hope they make some more changes to it soonish to make it their own.
There's no reason for the champion XP to be tracked per character instead of per account. It's an account wide system. I also agree that it should be unlocked for any char on the account once you get one character up high enough to earn it. D3 only gives paragon XP to max level chars, but you can max a D3 char in very little time compared to ESO.
My random wish is that they add a perk that isn't tied to the rotation between categories...extra skill points. How nice it would be to actually be able to take everything on a character and just swap out the skill bar. Or for leveling alts, not spending the first half of your levels picking and choosing. That would be of course through champion points, so everyone with that perk would have already "done their time" as it were.
