So... Am I misreading the rules or are Canadians excluded from this activity? The last point in the contest rules implies that unless you are part of the EU or American you are out of luck. @ZOS_GinaBruno would you be able to verify this for us please?

Valid...are the Australians also excluded (regardless of which server they are on).

@lihentian - it is but the rules specify the 50 states. We are not part of that.

Nope. The server isn't the issue though. The rules stating you must be a resident of the 50 states (with common exceptions) or a county that is a member of the EU is the basis of the question.

Yup, evidently they don't want us Canadians (or anyone else who isn't in the US or a European Union member country) joining in. I mean, I can understand wanting to keep Australians out - that country is entirely peopled by criminals! But why keep out us Canadians, or Kiwis, or anyone else?








Preventative note for the humour-impaired: the dig against Australians is meant tongue-in-cheek, and is a bit of a nod to The Princess Bride.

Lol sadly I suspect this may mean we are excluded from a lot of planned events that involve prizes in the future unless something changes.

If it makes you feel any better, not everyone from the EU can participate, I'm 99% sure people from Poland cannot (since we can't take part in any other contests in ESO).

I'm used to it by now, but it still stings a little. I wonder when my country's law regarding contests in MMOs changes.

I was wondering if it was a legal matter..but usually in Canada it's only Quebec that gets knocked out because they have a very different structure for these kinds of things than most of the country. I trying to think of anything in the rest of our laws (provincial and federal) that would prevent the rest from being in.

Is it because the pig giveaway counts as a contest, which likely has to clear the local laws for those who participate, and ZOS didn't want to hassle with other countries? US and EU already house a megaserver, so they are likely already following laws in those places.
