Is Fiord's set supposed to affect horse riding as well?

The tooltip for Fiords at 5-pieces says "Sprint cost reduced by 15% and movement speed increased by 15%."

With that said, my mounted speed/sprintcost doesn't seem to be affected at all whether I'm wearing the Fiords set or not. If Fiords is meant to affect horse riding, then can this get fixed? If it's not supposed to affect horse-riding, can the tooltip be edited with "non-mounted" to reflect that?

The only speed effect that I can tell that also benefits you on a mount is the one from the Alliance War skill line that makes you run faster (it gives you the yellow trails behind your character)


I think your character's stamina regen can have an effect on how fast the horse stamina regens. But I have not paid real close attention to that in months (since I figured out horses will sprint even after Stamina runs out). This could have even been changed with the new mount system.

Well, there is armour that affects your speed while mounted(Ward of Cyrodiil).

Nope. Horses still have unlimited sprint, which makes this complaint even less understandable.

The way I would be understand the text:

Movement Speed: character's normal walking/jogging speed.

Running Speed: pressed shift key.

Mounted Speed: well, yeah...

Sneaking Speed: also well, yeah.

All are different things to influence. If the text speaks of just "character speed" it is universal. As soon as one of the qualifiers is included, it's only valid for the subset.

The reason I asked is because "movement speed" is a pretty broad category. When I'm running, I'm moving. when I'm riding my horse, I'm moving. When I'm sneaking, I'm moving. Etc., etc., etc.

Which is why I asked for a clarification on the tooltip.

Fiord's set is Movement Speed (of your Character) which would seem obvious since it also effects Sprint cost (of your Character), yes it could be worded better.

You should actually try when you Troll... Ward of Cyrodiil set increases Movement Speed WHILE MOUNTED by 15%.

To the OP, you can wear both sets at the same time (and put Retreating Maneuvers on your Bar) for extremely fast getting around, Mounted or on foot
