What are dwemer motif requirements?

I have two and whenever I try to use them it say allready known or must have a required skill rank to use. I don't know them and my skills are way above the required rank. Do I need all the pieces?

When it says skill rank, it isn't referring to your level in the crafting skill, it's referring to the number of ranks you have in the passive that lets you craft items of a certain material/level. So if you've got a 50 skill in clothing, but you've only put in enough skill points in the passive to be able to craft in cotton, you won't be able to learn the motif.

On that note, could you please let us know at what skill rank you are able to learn these? Like if you had to put 7 skills points in or what?

I find it odd that dwemer has this restriction.. as it CAN be found in low level areas (unless your AD).

Make sure that you are the required rank needed to consume the motif , then go to the crafting station for the ones saying 'already known' and check if it is.. If so sell it. Otherwise need to report it as a bug..

I believe it's level 9? And I think that also applies to the other purple motifs.

Not sure about Imperial.

You need to be rank 9 in one of these Crafting passive skills: Metalworking, Tailoring or Woodworking. Or you need to have 5,000 crowns for the Crown Store version (no crafting passives required).

I thought it required rank 9 (ie. the maximum), but I don't remember for sure - I might be thinking of one of the other rare motifs, like one that drops in the Cadwell's Gold zones.

Imperial can be learned at any stage.. well, USED to be able to. I accidently learned it on a level 10 character after finding it. That character hadn't even started crafting.. but.. that was back in May. Pretty sure the Imperial book wasn't even a legendary item back then.

As well, it USED to be.. that you could learn Barbaric/Primal at level.. 7 I believe? I remember having to put skill points in to learn them, and then having to put more skills points in so I could learn Daedric/Ancient Elf (9/9) This was probably Nov/Dec?
