Welcome Back Weekend: Bites as prizes?

Quite a few people have lamented the fact that with the current setup there is no reason not to be either a vampire or werewolf. Queue the "Twilight Online" jokes, etc. The fact that the entire lineup of prizes for the most generally accessible part of the event is free bites looks very much like ZoS agreeing with this statement.

From a strictly MMO gamer viewpoint it doesn't make a whole lot of difference. From an Elder Scrolls gamer viewpoint it's sort of a problem, having half of the population of the world being either vamp or were. In the previous Elder Scroll games the incentive not to be infected came in the form of being hunted down, or dying while simply trying to use a shop that's only open during daytime (true story...most hilarious fast forward timer ever). In ESO no one comes looking for you. No NPCs are bothered by freakish vampire appearance, or giant talking wolves. Resistances are planned to minimize the weaknesses and you can play from there without even thinking about it. The exception is vampires in PvP but while that does dissuade people from going vamp, it doesn't give any reason not to go were instead. In Skyrim you fight for a cure for someone to save their soul from an eternity in Hircine's realm. It makes you think about that kind of choice. That kind of motivation is all well and good for NPCs, but for all intents and purposes player characters are immortal.

Should there be some greater incentive to stay away from these curses?
