• EU megaservers for patch maintenance – January 21, 9:00 UTC (4:00AM EST) - 15:00 UTC (10:00AM EST)

Why is patch 2.5 GB's...no added content?

I can not understand how this incremental patch is 2.5 gb. I read all the patch notes and dont see any added content. ZOS, i dont mind the patch size...but can you please confirm that all 2.5 gigs were for what the patch notes stated, and nothing else?

    It's in preparation for more expansions in the future.

    You may or may not know that they're prepping Imperial City for release soon. They added in sewer entrances all around the lake in Cyrodiil last patch, but this wasn't in the patch notes. I expect something similar here as well.

    That explanation totally works for me. I would just like for them to add that single sentence to the patch notes.

    The patch will be made up of new copies of existing files, rather than new files.

    I have no idea which ones because I'm not that familiar with the games file structure, but any file on your computer that needed to be changed will have to be downloaded again. Considering the game as a whole (according to my computer) is 41.6GB 2.5 isn't a lot.

    Thanks for the insight as well. I have pretty slow internet with no public wifi around me. I won't be in the game until Thursday at the earliest now.

    I guess I just got used to absurdly large patches for ESO. Just wait until the next major update when your jaw drops at having to download more gb than the current game has just for a patch :smiley:

    Maybe the lag in Cyrodiil diminshed too fast. They had to add some back in so they shipped 20 lbs with the latest patch?

    Patch was not even near 1gb for me. almost ~500mb

    Patch took about 5 mins or less to download for me?? Did not look like 2.5GB.
