Possible bug with justice system/quests

From what I read and understood on the forums, quests will not require you to commit illegal acts to progress through.

However, there is a quest in Koeglin Village in Stormhaven that requires you to investigate the Constable's house. That house is locked and it is of course a crime to pick the lock. Even though lockpicking is simple enough, I wonder whether this was intended.

Thank you.

There are several of these quests ZOS have known since 1.6's release about but are refusing to deal with, they seem perfectly happy to force people to deal with Justice even when players want nothing to do with it.

I've found one in Alik'r, the one you mention, one in Marbruk and one somewhere else I forget, I've seen others referred to.

I don't understand why people are so against the justice system. And also, previous ES games (I specifically remember Morrowind and Oblivion) had you commit crimes do to certain quests (even outside the dark brotherhood quests). Why should it be any different for ESO? You are breaking the law by helping these NPC's - why would you be magically be above the law? Even if a constable asked you too... lack of anything resembling a search warrant in ES I think you might find that just breaking and entering, even for evidence, would be frowned upon.

And if you feel that your character is too good and would never commit a crime well then you need to consider if the crime is for the greater good or realise that life works that way. If you aren't willing to get your hands dirty now and then, certain opportunities will be locked to you.

Besides the justice system should have been there since day 1 - it was never meant to be excluded.

This problem is still forcing you to get a bounty.

I don't understand why people are so against the justice system.

Because some people want to have characters that are not criminals. Its role playing. They are not asking for the JS to be removed, just not to be forced into a crime to do a non crime quest.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
