Jeweler Crafting - Any Updates on this subject?

black-gryphonb14_ESO
The fact it wasn't part of initial release was strange enough, but haven't heard any word on when/if the Jeweler crafting will be implemented?

It would go a LONG way into opening up options for players of all levels and play styles:
- Improving currently owned pieces (green->blue-purple, etc)
- Make player crafted sets significantly more useable as their major drawback right now is there are no jewelry pieces to go with them
- Allow for more creative, useful mixtures of set pieces
- Another use for the overabundance of Trait Gems

Shouldn't be too difficult to implement, could even use current crafting stations - blacksmith most obvious, but for space purposes wood stations would be best as they only make 6 items. Gold, Silver, Titanium, etc. could be bonus mats received from refining mats much as how we get trait stones now. Those rapidly acquired trait stones could easily be expanded for use in jewelry pieces as well.

To mix it up, expand enchanter with rare runes for making improvement glyphs - would drop as extras/bonuses from current rune sources. From a lore/fantasy perspective, makes more sense to improve jewelry pieces that way than simply adding improvement tempers.

Bottom line - really want to see Jeweler crafting implemented - so many possibilities with it.

It was in some of the very early betas, but got pulled. I have to assume it was a design choice and not a technical issue, or we probably would have seen it back by now... but I honestly don't know, I'm just guessing.

I would love to see this in play, it would really complete the crafting opportunities and let us do more flexible and advanced item builds.

Co-incidentally it would bring back into control the vastly inflated purple jewellery market. 100k-130k for a single purple ring? KER-CHING!

Does anyone not want to see jewelry crafting in the game?

    Zos doesnt
as said very early beta it was in but got pulled, I assume from preventing people to be able to craft 2 full 5piece sets, but well since currently most end pve dropped sets (or even pvp sets) are better then craftable sets anyways.... I dont see why not

I kinda assumed jwelery crafting got pulled because they didn't have enough stuff to make it seem viable. I mean... amulets and rings? Two crafted thingies to research traits for? Compared to woodworkings six, and the other two with fourteen?

Though I'd love to see jwelery crafting, obviously. Just... add some stuff. I for one would add an alternate destruction/restoration casting item... it always vexed me casters have to live with staves, I'd like something like a "focus" as alternate choice... be it a jeweled spellbook, or a ornate holy symbol, or an gem-encrusted skill, these things would be perfect for jewlerers to make, and bring their "stuff" number up to six, just like woodworking...
Then there could be jewlery-made armor pieces too. Crowns, anyone? Okay, that might be a bit presumptous to wear... but doable. Ornate facemasks would be another possibility. Might be the same possibility, depending on racial styles... and might be craftable in light, medium and heavy versions... things to craft/research up to nine.
And of course, jewlers might be able to make better lockpicks then the oney you can find, to give you less breakage and a bonus in lockpicking...

Good point....IMO it's metal and should be just added to blacksmithing. Maybe unlocked at lvl50 blacksmithing like a master blacksmith thing.

Players have been asking for Jeweler crafting since ESO went live and its been a year now. I might be wrong but I cannot remember ZOS even answering the question in the forums. In other words they have ignored all requests and failed to comment. To go further players have been also asking for Trait Crafting. In other words be able to change the traits on crafted, found or dropped armor and weapons and ZOS has failed to comment on that also. ZOS does very little to comply with player requests. An example was ZOS had stated they were going to allow the stacking of food and drink buffs in a future update some time ago and then later changed their mind and stated they were not.

The game needs a lot of improvement and players have come up with some great ideas to do just that. ZOS is not listening or they just don't want to implement the ideas.

Thinking of the technicalities, a jewelers work would be completely different from a blacksmiths. No hammering of red hot metal in shape on an anvil like a blacksmith does to create armor or weapons, but pouring precious metal into a form and then doing small delicate work on it fitting gems and so on... though I suppose the two do overlap in some areas, mainly in the creation of ornate swords requiring both crafts, the blacksmithing for the blade, and basic crossguard/hilt/pommel, and then the jewelers art to finish the adornments on the grip and pommel, gold-plating the metal (making a crossguard completely out of soft gold would after all defeat its purpose) and fitting gems...

Thus it would deserve to be a standalone craft. Just one that mostly works with small, delicate metalworkings and gems instead of large, strong metalsmithing for weapons and armor...

jewerly crafting will make sense if they will allow to use 8-10 rings, necklace and perhaps earrings. As of now - I don't care that much as about spellcrafting.
