Sorc question

Kinda new and always did melee. Is one race/class better for sorc then others or does it matter.

Race and role pairings are more important than Race and class pairings. If you plan on playing a Stamina Sorc, Imperial is best. If you plan on playing a Magicka Sorc, Altmer/Breton is best.

I feel I picked the worst races for all my toons to fit their roles, but on the other hand I have no intention to be a top end player so I am ok with what I picked.
But if you do want to be top, make sure you get the right race for your role

It makes a difference, but you can be a top-echelon player with any race/class combination. The difference isn't that huge.

Thanks for the info. Just to show how out of touch I am I thought sorc would be all magic but some one said there is a stamina build...

that is correct. Any class can be a stamina or magicka build, depending in your taste. The race doesn't matter that much unless you are a min-maxer at end game.

Except that, there being very little to do at endgame, you'll end up attempting to min/max to do Sanctum or the like regardless of your tastes.

Race is very important. Anyone who says otherwise has not played any endgame content.

Pick Altmer, Breton, or Dunmer if you are doing a magicka build.

My guildmate have roughly 6% dps less than mine because he is a khajiit when I am a breton. We both are magicka sorc with exactly the same build, the 10% magicka I have do the difference...
