So, as many of us have complained, where switching rolls from tank to heals to DPS used to only consist of a quick change of cloths in 1.5. Now, with CP's, you would have to go through the time consuming task of changing all your CP around as well pay a gold fee. The time consuming part is probably the more onerous but the gold fee feels so contrived and grasping that it always makes my hair stand on end. It is even worse if, instead of changing rolls, you are changing from stam to magica say to go from PVP to PVE. In this case, not only must your CP be changed, but very likely also your skill morphs. More gold and more time. The takeaway is that basically nobody is changing rolls or resources anymore.
The problem with this is that people liked to "play the way they like." To some extent they even needed this flexibility as trials require less tanks per number of people than dailies so some folks much be switchable or people will be out of work. The fallout from this very shortsighted and ignorant move on ZOS part is that more than half of the elite tanks in the AD on the NA server quit the game altogether and a few rolled only DPS. Great move that was. Yes we warned you it would happen, no you didn't listen and now you have less than 100 Sanctum completes in a month and a half. Warned you about the XP, gear, and yawning CP power gap too but those are other posts.
Anyhow, I have a clever way you can bring back "play the way you like" that not only gets it done but also makes the silver and gold content that most of your engame players, including me on most of my toons, skip because leveling is 4x as fast grinding, compelling. The idea is that for each of the Cadwell's factions you complete you get a whole second or third load out for your toon. So say you do silver, now you have the option of loading a whole second configuration of both skill morphs and champion points for the character you completed it on. If you do gold as well, you get a third. Realistically, 3 configurations is probably enough and tying them to the Cadwell's content gives that content meaning to endgame players, makes it no trivial matter to earn them, and makes it fell like you get a meaningful reward on completion instead of like 5k xp and a crappy blue necklace. I also like the way it ties into the lore of the game. You are like a new person running each other faction thorough the magic of Meridia right? If your so shiny, new, and different how about a whole different way to play for each of these experiences. Not bad, right? I would suggest you make the load out choice a menu option so that it can be switched whenever not in combat.
So what do you guys think? I think it's pretty clever and would help with the problems we are now having forming trial and dungeon groups without any toon role flexibility.
I am mostly pleased with the current state of ESO. Please do continue to ban cheaters though and you guys have to find out who is duping gold and how because the economy is currently non-functional.
