ESO Plus: Any Benefit to Pay In for Consecutive Months?

After trying ESO Plus for the first month I don't think it's a bad deal for people who play the game often, but I don't think it's not right for me at this time. Say I quit now and then come back in a few months. When I come back will I be lacking in anything other than the monthly crowns? For example, loyalty rewards, bonus crowns, or additional features only for long-time ESO Plus subscribers?

They have said they are stopping the loyalty rewards. If you stop your membership currently you will only loose the benefits you currently get from membership but in the future they are tying DLC to membership so you either have to buy the DLC or you have to maintain membership to retain access to future DLC expansions like Orsinium.

For me, while I'm levelling a couple of alts, the extra gold and exp is handy, not massively, but a little.

Once that's done though, I'll likely end my sub. The DLC thing... if you got them outright as a subscriber, it'd give me incentive, but this whole 'renting while your sub is active' seems like a con to me, I'd rather buy the ones worth having outright so I own them.

    ^ This, pretty much.

There really isn't anything to interest me in subbing, so I don't. I enjoy the levelling process and don't want to just rush through it, and the whole 'renting' DLC's just feels wrong. I'd rather just purchase packs of crowns as and when I require them, and buy the DLC's I want.

Be a recurring member remains the best option.

    Recurring membership:

30 days: 14,99 (bonus 10%, temporary access to the dlc, 1500 crowns).

90 days: 13,99 (bonus 10%, temporary access to the dlc, 4500 crowns).

180 days: 12.99 (bonus 10%, temporary access to the dlc, 9000 crowns).

As a subscriber, you receive 1500 crowns monthly, which got no need to spend, you can keep them and these in the crown store are equivalent to 14.99.

If you choose the membership of 180 days, you would receive 1500 crowns (which in the store cost 14.99) for only 12.99, saving you 2 dollars for every 1500 crowns acquired.

True, if cancel the membership you lose the right to access the DLC, but in that case, you have the reserved crowns and these can now buy the DLC you need (given that these crowns will cost 2 dollars less per 1500).

In addition you got 10% bonus during your playtime.

Not a member, when you want to buy the DLC you will not have accumulated crowns and when you want to buy will have to pay 14.99 for each1500 crowns you need (2 dollars more expensive) and in the time played you can not use the benefit of 10% bonus.

That is why the best option is the recurring membership of 180 days, accumulate crowns and if at any time you can not keep paying, using accumulated Crowns to buy the DLC.

All this is aside from wanting to show your support for the project with an upfront payment, monthly, fixed and recurring.

Currently I postponed my Plus subs for a while, 10% bonus is useless for me, and other reason no DLC etc coming in 1-2 months. So why I pay 15$.

I keep seeing people saying the temporary access to the DLC is "wrong" or a "con" as if it's some new shady business model ZOS invented. It's actually standard practice in most F2P/B2P MMO's (SWTOR is one example). It, along with the other perks, are known as incentives. Without incentives, there would be no reason to pay. With no reason to pay there would be no significant income. With no significant income there would be no game. Nothing in life is truly free. Everything has a cost whether it be time, money or some other form of resource. Would you rather see advertisements plastered everywhere in the game? I know I sure as **** wouldn't.

As Betahkiin pointed out, if you're planning to play for an extended period of time, the above mentioned incentives are actually quite advantageous to you. However, if you're the type to only play occasionally with long breaks between, then obviously going the 100% crowns route is the best option.

No one is forcing you to pay a dime for the game (other than the initial purchase of course). If you don't like the business model, simply don't participate. It's all about options. The more options there are, the more potential customers there are.

Just remember that if you play on both EU and NA you will have to pay for the DLC twice, once for each server. I think that's shady.

I wouldn't call it shady but I do agree that it's a poor decision on ZOS's part. Shady implies deceptive or unethical. This falls more under the greed category IMO.
