I'll have to review patch notes since 1.6, but there is one long-standing problem I have had since launch which has suddenly and quite mysteriously gone away. Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled to see this fixed, I am just wondering what did it since I know I haven't upgraded my video drivers since it was happening.
What I am talking about is a VERY noticeable FPS drop (to the point of stuttering on a relatively high-end system) when entering an outdoor building like a cave or certain shacks, like the ones around the quarantine site at Phaer on AD side.
Up until just recently this was always something I dreaded. Even certain caves that did have a load screen/door transition would do this up to the point where you reached the door. No more!
Suddenly I am getting very good/normal FPS even in these areas. I am also getting generally better performance overall, aside from the very occasional server load lag and crashing that I am sure is being worked on as well.
Also, it may just be my imagination but it seems like the lighting on most outdoor weather has been improved as well.
Anyway, just wanted to share, ans say thanks if this is indeed something ZOS specifically worked on.
It was either that or gnomes.
