Requesting change to melee...

... I remember at some point in time, it's been awhile so I can't recall if it was in beta or just after release, where melee was actually fun to play and actually easy to do. Now it's not fun at all and very frustrating. it used to be where as long as a mob or enemy player was in your view you could accurately hit them. It's since changed and it's like my reticle has to be directly spot on to the target or I completely miss. Correct me if I'm wrong but this seems horribly inaccurate to me. This shouldn't be based on if my reticle is on the target, this should be based on a cone based on the players center of vision. I mean, if i'm swinging a GIANT axe or mace, even with 1h midsized weapons, I should be hitting the target, and hell even multiple targets, per swing. As I see it now and I'm sure it's been stated before, melee is horribly inferior to any type of ranged weaponry. It just seems easier to put your reticle on a target and your bow/staff hits very easy. I have used staves for quite awhile since I got sick of how inaccurate and ridiculous melee is. Please fix this as I feel this is horribly broken.

I don't have this problem unless I fighting those chicken daedra in coldharbor, and even then its not as extreme as you are describing. I play 3rd person, and my two-hander does noticeable splash damage to all targets in front of him, and when wolfed out can infect enemies totally surrounding him (which is weird imho).

Well, I don't get it so much in PvE but PvP is horrible for melee. Even in PvE though it still can be a problem. Bigger enemies like trolls and gargoyles don't have any issue due to the size. Next to impossible to miss with something thats the size of a friggin tree. Standard sized enemies like bandits and human enemies and smaller are the real problem. The smaller the creature/enemy the harder it is to hit. While I get that the smaller something is its usually harder to hit realistically, you would think a true seasoned warrior would account for this and still be able to hit it. I don't know but, wishful thinking for a change in this area.

After looking at the passives I realize theres the first passive giving splash damage, but I still think they could change this. Add standard splash damage with 2hand melee weapons, and maybe the first passive increases this or gives somethign else to splash damage or something, like maybe changes based on weapon type. They did that for one of the other passives, sword gives % bonus to damage, axes give bleed effect, and maces give % to armor penetration. I just think it makes more sense to have basic splash damage as a standard for the weapon itself and fix the targeting issue with melee.
