Code of thieves

An interesting thing for the justice system would be, if you are caught by a guard, they leave you in a stocks in a city exposed as punishment.

While there you have the possibility of being released by other thieves who are close and help to escape without paying the bounty to the guard (you can choose be helped or reject the offer)

Being rescued automatically give the half of the the bounty you have to the player who free you and saved the other half for you.

If both are caught trying to escape, who was previously arrested will be killed on sight, and the rescuer automatically receive a bounty for criminal offenses and will appear in the stocks.

Otherwise, if some time pass and you are not being rescued, the guard released you offering the normal option of paying or running.

It is quite the interesting option.

Is there any word or indication that the Devs plan to change the system as it is in any way at all?

It would be an interesting concept but only if they added a go to jail/stockade along side the option to pay the bounty. I wouldn't want to be forced into losing game time by being forced into imprisonment.
I didn't choose tank life, tank life chose me.
