Issues updating my client

Okay, so I already had the game downloaded and updated for the release of Tamriel unlimited on my gf's machine. So I copied the directory over thinking I could just do that and play. However, when I run the launcher it just tries to redownload the game again. I'm able to play if I skip the launcher, but now that the game has been patched again, I can't update to play because the launcher won't do anything but try to download the whole game again. What can I do to get this to work so I don't have to redownload the entire game since I already have it. Is there a way to change the path of where the launcher looks so it sees I already have the entire game? I only need the latest patch.
