Try putting your butt in the saddle of such an animal while it's galloping. You will have trouble walking for a couple of days.

Sadly mine is not that high up.

Maybe they screwed up when they were forced to do a second round of distributions when many of us didn't receive the mount during the original distribution.

Mounts scale in size relative to the character riding them.
When my max height Altmer rides the senche, it's big as a NPC horse.
When my minimum height Bosmer rides the senche, the top of the senche's back comes up to a NPC horse's stomache.

I think the animation reminds me of a jockey..which I think is cool and I love no hoof sounds..who da thunk that irritated me??!!

@Samadhi yes, the Bosmer get totally screwed in the mounts department. They get stuck riding ponies instead of horses.
