1 Crown = 1 Penny overpriced?

i bring this up because i feel digital items are not worth $9 for mounts $13 for guar mounts and $23 dollars for the nightmare mount, what!!??? holy crap thats expensive.

so whats your thoughts on this?

My thoughts are to let the free market work its magic.

If the prices are too high, people won't buy Crowns.

Mmm, most f2p games I played, mounts were around 50€.
I really wouldn't say they are overpriced.

For something that is potentially a one-shot purchase for every character on your account, yeah I think its reasonable. They need to make money in order to pay for future content, which has to be of a certain size and standard.

That said @nerevarine1138 is essentially correct.

Here's the question, If mounts are 2300 crowns (some); how much will DLCs be??? Are you going to pay 5000 crowns for the next DLC?

The question I have to ask myself is, how much development work is a horse versus a DLC?? Seems like 100s of horses equal one DLC. IF so, and ESO can sell a horse for 1500 crowns, why would they work on DLC stuff??

My conclusion? STOP BUYING HORSES if you want DLCs!!

Well right now the digital version of the game is £50 which is around 10,000+ crowns...

So im expecting expansion like DLC will be 10,000 crowns or mini DLC around 4000-5000 crowns....

And yes it's expensive...

Which is why I bought loads of cheap 60 day time cards before the cut off and now have 230+ days of eso plus, all loyalty rewards and 13,000 crowns...

I saw this coming.

That doesnt work because zone dlc is the content of the future. Having something to ride around on hardly replaces the area in which you do it. We aready know of some of the zones that are under work, since @Elloa jumps up and down everytime they are mentioned lol so they are coming. You can count on it.

As for buying the DLC alot of us long term players are still subbed so, DLC access is a given.

Its for the community to decide ultimately if something is worth having. If they want it, and will pay for it the prices wont shift. So the real answer is; time will tell.

Cheap 60 day time cards? Even better call. I wish I had done the same They caught on and my 6 month sub cost jumped up by $18 (Canadian)

In many games, the store currency has an exchange rate of 1.25 to 1, so that 1000 crowns/gems/credits/whatever = $12.50. However, our brains are so used to thinking in terms of 10s that most people equate it to $10 subconsciously, and thus, spend more money than they intended. A lot of people, including myself think that's a despicable practice, and I'm glad ZOS doesn't use it.

As for the prices, someone else already gave the answer: the free market will set the proper price. If it's too high, and they don't sell very many, they will likely lower it. If they sell tons, they will probably raise it. It's worth what people are willing to pay. If you feel the digital goods are not worth the cost, by all means, don't buy them. If you simply wish they cost less, then what can I say? Free market working as intended.

I've buyed with my "free" crowns the guar and that's all, nothing else is interesting in the store right now.

Consider this: they where selling the palomino horse at 11€ and now it cost 7€, a normal mount is not so overpriced and if you are at vr14 with 2 days of play you can easy buy a "normal" mount.

Then if you actually want the flaming lore breaking (imho) horse you are going to pay for it, a lot!

I prefer to go around with my fat lizard and my sence tiger untill they will release a mammoth mount

If you can't afford something or don't find it valuable. Then don't buy it.

I still haven't spent one crown on the store. Because I don't value anything on it. The moment I do see something I value, I'll drop $500 if I want it. Until then, I'll pocket my crowns.

yeah im going to pocket the crowns to for dlc, especially if they make me pay for Imperial City with them.

Two thoughts:

1) Horse armor

2) This is why I much prefer to approach micro-transactions in games as straight purchases, rather than some vague concept of supporting the game/developers (although I'm aware it has that effect). It makes it much easier to determine whether an item is over-priced and avoid it.

It's also why I much prefer cosmetic/convenience only cash shops. It's easy to decide I don't need a different coloured horse or a wedding dress or whatever, harder to decide I don't need to upgrade my gear because the upgrades are over priced.

Fluff comes at a premium. I'd say that if it's not worth the price to you don't buy it.

If you stay subbed, just use the crowns you get each month to buy the stuff you want. You will of course have to exercise patience. Which will be hard since most people want everything now.

If you are not subbed make up a budget and buy the crows you want in a regular basis. No more then what you budged. For instance $10 per month. Then, as you have enough crowns buy what you want.

If you can't hold out, well, let's just say there's a reason why this business model works.

That's actually a pretty normal price for an MMO. That's well in line with what EQ2 charged for these types of items. Rest assured they will no doubt have special sale prices periodically.

That's a good point. Most MMO's don't let you use these items for all your characters so it's actually a bargain.

I thought the same thing. Nothing in there really caught my attention. Hopefully we will get some more interesting and unique items soon. At the very least I don't have to worry if my stuff is totally broken by the end of a dungeon run anymore.

im not on a budget, i just thought things that are digital items are not worth $23, like that flame mount. i wouldnt even by the dlc for $23, i would for 20 though. i think the prices are high for this reason, they are trying to get people to blow there crowns, then they will drop the price on everything when they get more items in the store. most people would have blown all there crowns early on this over priced stuff and actually waste money in the long run. so i guess im trying to help out my fellow gamer here. i am not a big fan of cash shops and believe i should be able to earn this stuff by doing stuff in game whether through pvp or pve.

whats to keep me subbing? not an overpriced digital item thats for sure. i like to help out the company but with the lack of content coming out til after console release ill save my money/crowns and probably my sub, the only thing worth the money to me is content.
