Error 209 - PatchManifestErrror_VersionFail (Following game crash)

Hello,

At approx 7.30pm (GMT) the game exited with an error message. If I attempt to start the game I encounter the following error message:

"Error 209 - PatchManifestErrror_VersionFail"

Couple of questions (for everyone + ZOS)

• Is this issue now widespread? (or it just me)
• Is there an update currently in process?
• If not, has a hotfix been applied at the server end and this has caused a mismtach with the client/server?
• If the above, do you have an estimated fix / or an announcement there is a known issue in progress that is being reviewed?

As always, any help appreciated.

yes I had this problem AND followed the article in the knowledge base (as I have done many times before) but on this occasion managed to lose a load of files or something and all the launcher wanted to do was update (download 31GB of data).

In the end I had to copy a 1.5 backup I had and download the whole 1.6 update again (reminds me I must backup this 1.6 version).

And after all that it just shows me the same "Error 209 - PatchManifestError_VersionFail" message so I will just carry on closing the launcher after launching the game and delete nothing from any game folders.

Thanks, yesterday it was ongoing problem and then without making any changes it only now sporadically appears so I am now able to play the game. Not sure Zenimax are constantly streaming hot fixes but it does seem to be much better.

I didn't run Repair or anything else like that.

I have done everything in the article except contact customer support and I am still getting the error. This started after today's patch.

Error keeps popping up on me as well. Takes it awhile to pop up so I can still play the game, but if I leave the launcher open when I log out of the game the message is there in my face.

This has been around since launch. The way to get around it (just got it again today when all I did was update the pts with launcher, not playing or anything)...is NOT use the buggy launcher. Just go to the executable file (.exe) and drag it to make a shortcut onto your desktop. Use it to launch game and only use the launcher to patch when there is one. Good luck.

I get this error sometimes after updates. In my case the solution is to deactivate my virus protection (Bitbefender) while updating or repairing, far from ideal but it solves the problem.
