List of Sorcerer Nerfs - As of Patch 1.6.5

While some of these nerfs apply to other classes, they more deeply impact sorcerers because of our dependence on magicka and lack of stamina utility:


-Light Armor has had its cost reductions and damage reductions nerfed

-Rebate now gives less than 1500 magicka where it used to give over 5,000 magicka on the PTS

-Our insta-cast pets now have a 1.3 second cast time (even longer with animation/gcd)

-Storm Calling skill costs have been increased by 10%

-Crit surge has a cooldown that prevents healing from aoe sources

-Crushing shock has had its damage decreased by 10%

-Damage shields are now far less effective (but still can't crit like heals)

-Overload now has a global cooldown

-Buff changes have lowered potential maximum spell damage/crit using potions

-Bound armor does not give any armor

-Critical chance from exploitation has been dropped significantly

-Lightning Form give less survivability than live for magicka users




NOTE:

+This list is not comprehensive

+All these nerfs are occurring as stamina are buffed to amazing heights

+Most sorc dps remains reflected and absorbed

+Stamina costs for blocking/rolling/cc break for magicka users have sky-rocketed

And @ZOS_ShannonM , please recognize this thread is referring to today's changes and is not equivalent to one made over a week ago in which the OP said he was quitting. The purpose of this thread is to compile some of the largest sorcerer nerfs into one place.

    What a joke that the OP asks people only post constructive posts (IE nerfs to sorcs to complain about). The balance to this game has changed radically, not everything is a nerf things had to be rescaled because they got more powerful due to the scale up/removal of soft caps. Seriously, read between the lines and actually understand why they made changes.


    This is a biased as heck thread and asking for only constructive posts is hilarious... as I read through it.... they buffed overload to be godly, yet you complain that since they also added a GCD to it (because it is so strong) that its a nerf.... WHAT?!?! Have you even tested it? Overload wrecks people even with the GCD... unbelievable.

    On the server now. Which is why I can use numbers such as: less than 1500 magicka and 10%. However, I understand if your internet is slower and have not yet been able to confirm these changes too.

    Been in game for what? A few hours at most? Yup, you are clearly an expert at the new balance of a completely redesigned game. No doubt, also read my edits. You're a clown.

    Also, half your list are not sorc nerfs, they are overall nerfs that affect everyone. Cool your jets.

    Yes, my DK has had some chuckles as people like you thought you could use overload with abundance or reflects/absorbs in this game. It's called context, get some.

    I rly wanted to play pets in pvp, but with 1.3s cast time..
    Prob i will go max spell powa or just simply move to my templar jesus beam spammer..

    Unlike you, most of us have been in PTS for a long time now. We already have a grasp on some of the new balances and can read what has and has not been changed as of yesterday. Again, just because you have no clue, it does not mean others don't too.

    There is validity in what has been posted, for those who wish to argue it please at least give some logic behind it. Better yet, show a list of what was changed for other classes in 1.5 to 1.6. Just a side by side comparison will say it all.

    For those who say it was all needed. Was that because Sorc were overpowered in 1.5? Or is it because of the new mechanics in 1.6 that required all these changes.

    If it was due to the new mechanics, why did ZOS take a band aid approach instead of revamping the entire class? The transition to 1.6 and Tamriel Unlimited would have been a perfect time for a major overhaul.
