Farewell Sorc class

Sorcerers' will still be used as Negate Monkeys' we need someone to Silence all the mobs in a certain radius in trials, do we not? Oh wait! Mobs can CC break now.... Ah well, it was fun while it lasted. Still, I hope a few Sorcerers' stay. It's always so fun to watch a Sorcerer place down a Negate, then have the Negate get Negated, then Negate the Negated Negate.

Edit: @Ezareth have you even done that? Negate a Negated Negate, I mean?

I'll tell you one thing, if you didn't get AA hard mode done before the patch, good luck getting it done now.

I don't understand the huge appeal of Sorcs, the game becomes laughably easy and boring. Hopefully these changes will make it more interesting a class to play.

I think I did that just last night. Sometimes there are so many negates I just spray and pray. The real problem for me was that unless I had immunity or immovable up I couldn't ever *stand* in the negated negate so that I could negate it and get a free heal/magicka return.

Mine is a magicka NB build and in PTS it did amazing. Wasn't even close to destroyed. What skills are you talking about in particularly?

I was a melee magicka build, and sure some things changed but I found in 1.6 it's even deadlier and more fun to play. Impale, concealed weapon, dark cloak, lotus fan, mass hysteria and soul tether/soul harvest. other bar is rapid regen, ward ally, reapers mark, shadow image, and a mix between crippling grasp, sap essence, and degeneration. Build is completely setup for max damage output and knowing at all times what major and minor buffs I'm using. So I'm just wondering what you were using? Lotus fan was doing awesome damage this time around as well.

I am however (once this thing downloads) going to try a stamina build for yits and giggles. Using 2H and a bow. The only thing I am going to miss though is rapid regen and ward ally. Still not 100% on using bow though. A couple other options I am looking at but I do need some ranged stuff.

There are no more classes post patch. Only wrecking-blow stamina one button wonderbuilds.

lol well all it seems you have to do now when a Sorc drops Negate is just dodge roll out and then you're fine to walk back in... no need to negate the negate.

As long as I can successfully play my sorc without pets I'll be fine. I wanted to play a sorcerer, not a ranger. I can't stand pets.

Theres a reason why Tamriel Foundry is littered with posts asking if theres a viable Sorcerer spec for 1.6.... Just sayin.

If they hadn't gutted our survivability, we could focus more on dps. As of now, we're being forced into a togglemancer spec. Add to that the coming nerf to Rebate, and the class is useless. Sub par dps, zero survivability, pigeon holed into one spec that is continually being nerfed (rebate nerf incoming...).

Why even play a Sorcerer?

Just tried it in pvp... not sure this class is viable for pvp. I have to do more testing/relearning but as of right now I have only one offensive skill in my bar, the rest are toggles. Not good. Honestly, I'm a little discouraged and just quit for the night. I'll try again tomorrow... maybe. This is just pvp btw.

I'm sure they will hotfix sorcs with some more nerfs until tomorrow, after all it looks like its a tradition.

I'm with others ... other builds were nerfed harder than sorcs. My NB build was obliterated. Let them feel pain for their whinery.
