Costume Slot additional function idea

Rather than just costumes for this slot i think it would be amazing if we can be given the option to equip any one piece of armor into that slot. this way we can fix ugly set pieces as well as dye said piece.

like hmmm love my entire armor set effect and looks except that horrible body armor or like the look of this body armor's lower level tier appearance.

just Dye something you like like a new shirt or whatever and drop it in the costume slot and it covers up the matching armor piece. gives players a ton of slight tweaks without defeating costumes from the crown store. heck if wanted make this small crown purchase to perma unlock for your account. i know i'd pay for it.

devs already said they were working on a way to wear tabards and costumes so if they figure something out then we can have our choice single armor piece in costume slot 1 and a tabard in slot 2 and everyone gets slightly happier as well as more customization to us all.

The cosmetic panels in LotrO and also in Rift work in this fashion. You can equip any piece of armor cosmetically (not stat bonuses, just the look of the armor) and have that be visible instead of your equipped pieces, or in combo with them since you can toggle on/off any piece from head to feet. Wish we had this here.

This is a great idea and yea... the whole "costume" system needs an overhaul STAT.

i'd be happy for just the one peice of armor atleast even if it was heavy over heavy medium over medium etc i'd love to wear lords, stygian, necromancers etc

YES - I would love to be able to slot an additional piece of armor for each slot for aesthetic purposes. Of course we should be limited to equipping pieces that match the functional piece's type (heavy, medium, light). Full-body costumes are a lazy approach.

Although, an even BETTER idea would be to keep the current system but give full access within the motifs and allow us to select which aesthetic model we want to craft. Level/power is determined by the type/amount of material used anyway!

This could meaningfully differentiate crafted gear from dropped gear. @ZOS_GinaBruno - please bring up the issue to the code gods! I really like a lot of the lower-level models and it makes me sad that I will never get to use them again.
