Looting things

I have noticed that if I check every container in a town or city I find a bunch of lock picks, junk items, motif stones, food and groceries... and 1 green item... same with Delves, the containers will have only 1 green item in the whole delve (I am not including chests in this observation)...

What this means is there is the inclusion of that green item is not a random event, it's more like a check box... "Here is your green item, have a good time checking the rest"

If the items in the containers were random, sometimes there will be nothing of value in any of them.. and sometimes, there will be several... that's why it's called "Random"
Of all the things I have lost, I miss my mind the most...

You might want to do some math here. Don't know about the average number of containers in a city or a dungeon. And I don't know about the probability of green, blue or purple items to drop either. Anyway, it sounds like your results can very well be in the expected range.

Furthermore, I had loot-runs where I have found
    1. no green item at all
    2. more than one green item
    3. at least one blue/purple/golden item, no matter what the number of green items was.

So, I'm sorry to say, but your argument seems to fail.

Loot in general is lackluster in this game, everything is way to common and easy to get, nothing to look forward to or try for.

@tiamak, I am sorry, I was not as clear as I should have been...

While Recipes can be found in Green, Blue and Purple, Motifs in Blue, Purple and Gold depending on the location, I was primarily talking about the junk weapons and apparel found in non-chest containers.

While I also don't know the average number of containers is a town, city or delve, I have spent a lot of time searching different towns, primarily the ones with the most containers. I have been trying to get motifs for 5 characters (3 of mine, 2 for my wife) recipes for 6 (4 of mine so far) as well as items I can "Recycle" for inspiration.

At this point I need a bunch of the Dwemer motif chapters, 1 barbaric and as many as 4 imperial motifs (even if I have the imperial edition of the game, I still need to get the imperial motif for the achievement)
Of all the things I have lost, I miss my mind the most...

Hum... That is what i get when i loot stuff from container around the world. Some container will get me a stupid 0 gold junk and other time i will get me a motif or 2 or 2 recipes.

Last night i did not open lots of container but still managed to get 2 blue motifs and 1 or 2 recipe and other green items. Some other night even after opening every container i saw i only got junk item.

I completely agree. Even in "end-game" dungeons, trials, DSA, and in Cyrodiil, the majority of loot is underwhelming. As for looting in typical containers throughout Tamriel, most of it isn't worth the time necessary to interact with all the containers. At least I've never found it to be worth the time.

For me, anyway, once Justice System goes live, I will finally enjoy looting.

On the random junk items in clutter containers... I've seen more than 1 green on some passes, and none on others. It really is random. If it feels like it's happening on a predictable pattern, that's your brain messing with you trying to make sense of what's going on.

the odds of getting greens are low, but they do drop randomly.
