It's time. We need official word from the Developers on the status of PvP Servers.

It has been going on too long. It is absolutely ridiculous how after almost a year the status of lag in PvP remains fundamentally unchanged.

All of your efforts have failed and I fail to see how 1.6 will bring any further changes unless the actual server itself is altered.

Here are the main issues seen throughout Cyrodiil in the Thorblade campaign on the European Server:

I'm sure you are aware of these but just to refresh your memory

• Unable to open keep doors.
• Unable to place siege weapons.
• Stuck in Combat for extended periods of time until the game catches up and realises you're not fighting any more.
•Many players in one concentrated area unable to be killed due to the lag and capturing keeps / scrolls as a result.

There are many more which I'm sure people will comment about.

We as a community, as people who have invested in purchasing the game and paying for a subscription deserve an official updated statement from the team at Zenimax on what you are currently doing to fix this monumental flaw in your game.

    Look at all the planned dlc zones coming ( 5 so far ) all of which are PvE, then look at imperial city which at present has been shelved. Then add to that, the fact there's not being a single bit of new PvP content added to the game since launch. It's looking more and more like ZOS as basically given up on PvP as a lost cause

    ZOS has epically failed its community so far. I hope that disaster of an event in the PTS servers have opened their eyes. IT IS NOT OUR ROUTERS OR MOTEMS ZOS. GET OFF YOUR BUTTS AND FIX YOUR GAME

    I honestly think the main PvP developers quit months ago and left the code in a badly documented and half broken state of neglect with some fast "band-aid" hacks sprinkled in. What we are seeing now seems like the efforts of a group of developers with little or no experience with those parts of the code, gripping for straws to try and save the PvP part of the game with some quick fixes.
    This is of course just guesswork, but I see no other reason why they would be so terribly bad at what they are trying to do. They are slow and ineffective.
    Hopefully, they are skilled enough to get up to speed and fix this. We'll see.

    Last I heard, ZOS was looking really hard at PvP.

    After nearly a year of about zero improvements to PvP, my belief that "it will get better in the future" is starting to wear a bit thin.

    This is most certainly not the issue. People should be allowed to play however they want. It is not their fault, it is the servers fault for not keeping up with the demand.

    They have stated time and time again that they are working towards fixes for the lag. They have stated that optimization is a major priority and they are constantly working toward fixing it.

    ZOS, like all software development companies, is divided into teams. The UI team and the balance teams can not help optimize the game to reduce lag. The content developers and art teams can not work toward determining the cause of server problems.

    To complain about new content while lag persists displays an fundamental misunderstanding of game development, and is not productive.

    when they openly state that they spam aoe to intentionally lag the server, they deserve to be booted to the login screen or banned.

    They've fixed the crashes, they've fixed the population imbalance, but not the state of their server.

    It isn't about implementing in game fixes, it's about implementing server side fixes. I want to know what the status is with the server, do they even know why the server completely fails under certain conditions.

    Nothing they have done so far has reduced the lag even slightly.

    To be fair kbkb, he said he was on EU. I think they have it a lot better than us in terms of population balance.

    Perichor, that's just not true.

    Its pretty damn obvious that there is a massive population disparity in oceanic time zones. When its 2-5am in the states, and EP has 3 bars to the other factions 2/1, that doesn't equal 'balanced'.

    Coincidentally, this is also when EP caps emp, scrolls and home keeps.. Because the other factions don't have the numbers or means to defend, no matter how many people are in organised groups.

    Maybe you don't play during those times, but that doesn't make it less true. For those of us who play in those times daily, its like clockwork. AD/DC pops go down, EP stays the same until they own 2/3rds of the map or more.

    There is no *** way or they are in denial or they would have fixed it a long time ago to stop the raging on the forums. The problems started for me in 1.2 with the implementation of the "botting" fix.

    The lag is caused by the servers not able to handle the requests so your ping shoots through the roof as commands are queued.

    If I had to guess in an educated manner, after mass exodus of people that left the game, they downsized their server farm and here we are today. Pvp during beta and launch was much better because they had a larger server farm, losing subs and revenue meant downsizing somewhere be it servers or contain connection quality, it is what it is.

    It will get better she server hardware and connection points are upgraded enough to handle the load, until then, expect the same.

    Typical MMO.

    Hypes PvP in game as being a huge part of game to get lots of sign-ups.

    Reality is, PvP is lagfest and doesn't get any attention ever.

    Pretty much seems to be the case in all new MMOs.
