Any Word On Character Slots as a Purchasable DLC in Crown Store?

As title asks, has there been any mention if we will be able to buy more character slots in the Crown Store?

Thanks. I've honestly been wanting more like many people and it was a natural thought. How about 2 or 4 extra slots for those of us who subscribe? Thoughts?

I'd gladly buy that, and I know a lot of people would, too. It's CERTAIN INCOME and a NON-GAME BREAKING/UNFAIR thing to sell. They should totally look for those.

It breaks my heart to have 10 races to choose from and only 8 slots! I'd ask for at least 12 slots, to be honest, 'cause Khajiit master race deserves at least 2 or 3 characters.

The only real argument I've heard that might cut against unlimited character slots is the abuse of the hireling system. Since the system delivers random items, including high level items which can be sold, some players - not me, mind you - have complained that giving every extra alts will increase the "abuse" of that system.

Meh. If someone wants and has the time to click through 12 character slots every single day (or God forbid twice a day) to get three iron ore, more power to them. I usually just unload my current character and let the others wait, although sometimes I go through all four.

However, I'd love to have just three or four most slots, please!

They are nerfing the hirelings in 1.6 so they will not bring as many valuable items, so that will no longer be a reason not to provide extra character slots - for a fee of course.

I agree it seems like a no brainer money maker for the company. Heck, they could even add a new playable race at some point and watch the cash rain down.

Edit: before anyone jumps on it I am not advocating putting a playable race in the cash shop- just saying if one was added, people who already are using eight slots would probably buy an extra slot.

I'd like it just to play with friends who have low level alts, while at the same time making a couple of those races I couldn't before.

In the AUA they described the demand for additional slots as "something [they're] aware of and looking into." As I recall. So, no, that's not really a direct quote. A barbershop/face sculptor, and (I think) name change tokens, were also mentioned in the same post.

Steam won't sell the old boxes for they don't sell boxes at all.
And the old download-keys will be relabeled "Tamriel Unlimited" with the new price of 60 bucks.

So the best price you could expect at the steam summer sale would be 40 bucks at a 33% discount.

It's not really abusive anymore, as the mats come directly to the mail. (At one point in time, they arrived as containers and items within spawned on character opening (leveled accordingly)).

So, to get the mats, you still have to level the craft and have the skillpoints.

Regardless, with the upcoming patches, the high level mats received from hireling mails will greatly decreased.

Again, it's enough of a pain with 8 sets. With 12, it would become mailboxes online.

OP, if you want more than 8 characters, buy a second edition.

I wonder why they changed the delivery system. I agree, the mail delivery is a royal pain - and I don't even have eight characters.

The old system had a couple issues. The biggest one was there were ways to pull chests out of a mail, log onto another character and pull it down again, and again, and again.

The other one was, if you logged off a character with a pending mail, it would come to whatever character you logged in on, at least, I think that's what happened. Which created a situation where, if they didn't have the hireling passive, you'd crack the chest and get nothing.

Sure people could buy a second copy of the game and register another account. Or play additional characters on the other server. Some people already do these things.

But clearly a decent number of people are willing to pay for the convenience of having extra characters on the same account and the same server, or else this request wouldn't keep popping up over and over and over again.

Don't worry, they took care of the Hireling issue by making them not worth having come 1.6. So, this clears the way for extra character slots.

IIRC, ZOS announced that they're reducing the chance of getting the upgrade components from the hirelings, and compensating by increasing the chance of receiving them from refining. That pretty much negates the hireling "abuse" argument as far as I'm concerned.

Hopefully that change will pave the way for more character slots, since, I agree with you, the hireling issue is really the only valid contrary argument that I've seen.

PLEAAAAAAAASEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! I will give you my first born child sometime in the very far future ZOS if you do this, I've been wanting more slots since forever now and so have a lot of my friends too.

Now that the desperate and needy post is out of the way, yes, they need to add it to the Crown Store, especially now with the future Hireling nerf for materials coming in 1.6, I'd probably end up buying quite a few of them if they did since I want to role with more weird and fun idea's for characters.

Yes to more character slots!

They changed the way Hireling mails were delivered because you would only have to put the one point into every character, log in to each one, then log into your highly leveled main and get loots equivalent to the high level main. In essence you could get ten high level crafting crates each day. With the most recent change I'm actually considering dropping those hirelings as they already send me mostly useless tat, so I can't imagine the new drop rate will encourage much "abuse" if they began selling additional character slots, it would also be a nice bonus thank you to current subs, give em two free character slots.
