ESO Premium and DLC question

I'm sorry if this has been asked previously but if we are ESO Premium members and gain access to future DLC's that are released, if for what ever reason we let the premium membership laps do we lose access to the DLC's that we had gained access to previously?
Access to all of ESO’s downloadable content (or DLC) game packs for the duration of your membership

Reading what has been posted in regards to what we get from being a premium member, I'm understanding this quote to mean we lose access to DLC if our membership lapses.

Yes, once the subscription ends, you no longer will have access to the DLCs. I really hoped they would implement a system where you would be able to keep the DLC if you have been subscribed for a certain amount of time.

One solution would be to spend the Crowns you get for being subscribed each month on purchasing the DLC in the crown store. Then you will keep that DLC even if your subscription runs out.

It's almost like it's more of an advantage to play subscription free and buy the DLC's as they come out, that way you have them forever.

I've had the same thought myself, but I've decided on just subscribing and perhaps, if we're lucky, they will allow us to keep the DLCs we've subscribed for in the future.

    EDIT: added a comma

and it would be cheaper too, since there will be big gaps between DLC

You can't say that last bit with any reason to think you're right, in fact it's highly likely IMO that DLCs will be small scale and frequent, especially as ZOS have always said they never planned to do the usual 'expansion pack' trip like most other MMOs do, and that was long before B2P came into view.

No DLCs till after console release and will be releasing new updates slower than before. Personally, I`m going free once its available and then I will see. Nothing in the shop really catches my eye, so dont need the crowns stipend per month.

This is what I've been saying. They need to add more value to the subscriptions. Just because ESO is now B2P it doesn't mean subscriptions won't bring a steady revenue to ZOS. They should make subscriptions to incredibly awesome that you feel like you're a chump if you DON'T subscribe. Subscribers will still but items in the crown store.... so that's even more money!

    Here's some benefits I've proposedhttp://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/150450/eso-subscription-benefits-suggestions#latest
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

If you are p2w player like me, then you should sub. 10% more champion points sure is a nice perk. I always buy advantages over other players when possible and I will do it now too.

The updates will continue and you get them weather you pay a subscription or not. The DLC's is only going to happen 2 maybe 3 times a year if we are lucky. And not til after console release.

Sept to Dec is going to be about the time for the first DLC, if even this year.

The DLCs are somewhat irrelevant to the subscription, in my opinion. The real question is whether or not you plan to buy crowns at all while playing.

If you do plan to buy some, most notably on a monthly basis, then the subscription is a significantly better deal for you as the 1500 crowns per month pays for the subscription fee. So essentially you are buying 1500 crowns, and then getting everything else for free.

If you do NOT plan on buying any crowns (or very few), then I would buy the DLCs separate and play for free instead.

Actually it is the opposite. Sage specifically stated that "we fully expect a longer time between updates" due to the fact that the game is being developed for four different platforms rather than just two. While he did say there may be some updates that will be "free" like those which have system updates, any that are specifically for zone content will certainly be paid updates, to which he also added that "This will impact the schedule because it is a different delivery plan than our current model."
