Horses, Bag Space and More Questions

With the change in how horses are trained, meaning YOU are the one 'trained', does that make it possible to max our all three horse stats and, if so, does bag space also increase on all horses you own/use?

Does it also mean all three visual effects, barding, bags and armor, will be visible on all horses if the character summoning them is sufficiently well trained?

Are all horses bound to account and, if so, do the visuals change for each character that summons a horse based on that toon's level of training?

srsly, you guys, this is the most important issue coming up. I'm super cereal about this.

Yes, you will get a new skill set. Your max trained horses will determine that skill on conversion. If you have a level 50 pack horse all your chars without a horse or lower stats will have instantly 50 inventory slots. If you have more horses with the same stats you loose the paid money for training. And the horse of course.

Training the skills works the same way like now, it's just you who gets trained.

I believe you have to have a mount on that character to get the bonus to bag space for that character. Although I do think the mounts are now account wide (not sure on that, someone will have to check on the PTS).

It does bring up the question, if the mount has to be assigned to the character, what happens if you move the mount to another character? Do they lose the bag space?

As clarified below, your character has to have the "Bag Skills" to get the upgraded bag capacity.

On the pts mounts are kept in the collections panel and are account wide. More then one character can use the same mount skin at the same time. No mount has stats on it anymore. Stats are per character, so having a max capacity mount on a toon A before 1.6 means that toon A will have max capacity in their riding skill after 1.6. Toon B will not have the max capacity unless they also had an upgraded house prior to 1.6

Ah, I thought so. Skins are account wide, skill ( and visuals that follow ) are on a per-character basis.

Kinda sucks because I have three toons whose horses are trained for speed barding and bags with little to no stamina.

BUT! My banker will have a very, very, veeeeerry bagworthy steed, indeed!

This is not quite accurate. The skill is on a per character basis.

    I'll illustrate with a scenario

    Pre-1.6:
    Main character has:
    -white horse with 50 capacity
    -black horse with 50 stamina
-light brown horse with 50 speed
    Alt has:
    -white horse with 20 capacity

    Post-1.6:
    Main character has:
-riding skill at 50 capacity, 50 stamina, 50 speed
-access to a white horse, black horse, or brown horse, any of which will perform based on the riding skill of 50 capacity, 50 stamina, 50 speed
    Alt has:
-riding skill at 20 capacity, 0 stamina, 0 speed
-access to a white horse, black horse, or brown horse, any of which will perform based on the riding skill of 20 capacity, 0 stamina, 0 speed
Note: the main and the alt can have the same horse selected at the same time with no problem, as it is now just an account-wide skin.

    This is correct.

So for everyone wondering, this means you should be training 1 max stamina, 1 max capacity and 1 max speed horse right now on each character (3 horses per character).

After 1.6 you will only be able to do 1 upgrade every 20 hours, but on live you can do 1 of each upgrade on your 3 horses, anticipating the day when 1.6 drops and the 3 horses get combined into 1 super horse (technically 1 super rider but whatever).

Yes, that's exactly what I'm doing... Previously I had maxed out a speed horse and a capacity horse on my main, and a speed horse on 1 other character, but not bothered with anything other than a level 1 Imperial horse on my other characters. Now I've got 3 Imperial horses on each of them, so I'm leveling all 3 stats on each of my characters. It's getting expensive!

See, I have horses on my mains that have 30 in speed, and 20 in bags. I have to upgrade another horse past those levels in speed and bags to get the boost in 1.6. (I think anyway) So, it's real expensive for me.

Which is why I will do these upgrades on the mains once live hits. The 20 bags and 30 speed is enough really. However my Templar will be 50/50/50 once 1.6 hits.

Yeah, for your situation that definitely makes the most sense. If you upgraded your horses in a balanced way, then the best bet is to wait until after 1.6 for riding upgrades. If you maxed out 1 stat on one or more horses, then it's best to work on upgrading the other stats on different horses now.

Have they fixed the horrible bug on the PTS that made it so only the first character you logged in got properly converted?

All my mules lost dozens of items from their inventory when I logged them in on the PTS. It was super broken as of 1.6.0...

Likewise, I never put anything into stamina for my main, and I couldn't ever justify buying the black horse before (even though I like the way it looks better) because it would always be inferior to my speed horse. Now I've got a black horse that I'm happily leveling for stamina :D

can we have more bank slots, please? 240 slots aren't enough and relogging to mules ain't fun, feels like a waste of time...
just add 260-1000 more for opening, will be massive gold sink in the game and make many ppl happy!
