Just logged in (I quit a few months ago in the middle of VR5, Rift, started as Aldmeri Dominion citizen) and found Rift almost empty. Literally no one playing there, just a few persons in the city, chat was silent for two hours. EU server, middle of the day, Saturday.

Is it always so empty or just because of PTS?

It must be. I see players literally everywhere I go on PTS, it seems that the community wants a polished update (Which hopefully we do get)!

EU has a smaller Population and a good deal of people seem to not bother with VR questing these days...

Who would? Get a toon to V1 then grind 13 vet levels in craglorn.

God I hope they remove those compulsory vet ranks.

No, everyone is not on PTS. If you can, go to Rawl'kha. You'll see plenty of players. Go to Vulkel Guard in Auridon. Same thing. Just because you don't see players where your character is, does not mean "everyone" is not online.

Are you talking about regular or VR areas?

I am VR 5 myself and currently in Malabal Tor and the place is currently a ghost town. I will run into someone once in a blue moon while playing. I think the game is currently dealing with what is pretty much typical with any MMO. Most of the people in the game have either leveled up to max level or have that problem staying focused so they constantly roll alts and never get that far into the late game. So basically you see most people at VR 14 or in the low level zones. All the mid range zones are ghost towns.

"And it's important to state that our decision to go with subscriptions is not a referendum on online game revenue models. F2P, B2P, etc. are valid, proven business models - but subscription is the one that fits ESO the best, given our commitment to freedom of gameplay, quality and long-term content delivery. Plus, players will appreciate not having to worry about being "monetized" in the middle of playing the game, which is definitely a problem that is cropping up more and more in online gaming these days. The fact that the word "monetized" exists points to the heart of the issue for us: We don't want the player to worry about which parts of the game to pay for - with our system, they get it all."

I've always found the Silver zones to be ghost towns. At least, since Craglorn.

On live, I see a ton of people floating about in the non-vet zones. And, I'm still seeing a fair number of people in the gold zones. Though, granted, " a fair number of people in the gold zones" means five or six people wandering around or questing.

On the PTS, Craglorn and some of the non-vet zones seem surprisingly populated. But, there aren't many from my contacts list on there. So... no? A lot of people are still on live.

I am working my way through Cadwell's Gold, and I see players all over the place.
