Crown Store Items and Prices definitely sounds P2W to me

The following list of prices come from this thread http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/149910/crown-store-items-pictures-and-more on the PTS forum

Go through read the item descriptions we were told crown store items would be just like what we buy from vendors and well they are better then what we can get in game. I would accuse ZOS of lying about that too but hey I am sure they have a valid excuse for misleading everyone.

Strictly speaking, in the ESO Live from January 20th Matt Firor did say:
"Our philosophy is you can't get anything in the shop that you can't get by playing."
Which is of course not true for the cosmetic items (but I guess he was already talking about convenience items there) :)

And in the same ESO Live Paul Sage said:
"Again, we have to make sure that they are not better than anything you can gain in the game."
But crown store repair kits are a tiny bit better than the all the ones you can currently get in the game :)

But personally, I have no problem at all with how the crown store is right now on the PTS, I expected much, much worse when I heard statements like the following ^^
    Paul Sage wrote:
"The game is still going to be the best place to get the best gear."
In other words, there is a chance that it's not going to be the only place to get the best gear? :)

    What I fear/expect:
Items that preserve or restore Enlightenment and Platinum Undaunted pledge (small daily solo dungeons or quests that require a crown store item and give you 20-30 points for the Undaunted skill line and a chance to get a boss helmet; in the worst case a new boss helmet set that can only be obtained in the platinum pledge).

Edit: But then again, even that would still be ok :) The very worst case would be reduced spawn rates for alchemy ingredients and crown store consumables that are needed to stay competitive in PvP or are needed to complete trials/the veteran dragonstar arena or even veteran dungeons. That would be terrible. Or legendary materials, nirncrux stones and rare set items sold directly in the crown store. But I don't think they would ever do that (no subscription MMOG I know has ever done that when it went free to play) :)

Go play SWTOR where you have to pay to equip raid gear. Then you'll see what P2W is.

As long as those items don't exceed what you can create in game using crafting I won't complain to much. GW2 store seems very similar to this.

Gotta agree with the others, exactly what aspect of that huge list is P2W?

Some people think anything other than pure cosmetics crosses the P2W line.

The market has left those people behind, though. They need to learn where the new line is -- anything not as bad as the pure P2W's, Archeage, Neverwinter etc. ;)

P2W would be more like buying legendary tempers for gear, getting the best siege equipment, or maybe a totally new siege engine with different functionality for only real cash.

Is it PTW or PTTUS? I already have issues with space, this is just what I need, more stuff I can pay for that will take up space... (Pay To Take Up Space)

The pots are not that great and everything else is cosmetic.... Your argument is SO INVALID its hailed as a standalone religion in another universe where stuff is backwards.

    @Hamfast‌
They have done a huge overhaul on the inventory side of things, for instance stacks of items now go to 200, there are much fewer provisioning ingredients, costumes and pets now do not take up space and a few extra small changes to really help with inventory management.

***, If you need a good example of P2W, open Steam and download APB : reloaded, it's f2p 3rd person shooter/rpg with cash shop, mess around with that for an hour or 2 and you'll know the true meaning of P2W.

Anything that you can buy in the cash shop allowing you to circumvent standardized mechanics of a game is paying to win. It doesn't necessarily have to be top end game gear to be called pay to win. Something as small as allowing you to level faster or revive yourself or repair your items is circumvented the standard systems in the game which I consider paying (buying cash shop items) to win at the game. The whole goal of the game is to level up and find gear to make you stronger. Thus items you purchase that allow you to level easier or faster is in fact paying to win.

    In my opinion.
"And it's important to state that our decision to go with subscriptions is not a referendum on online game revenue models. F2P, B2P, etc. are valid, proven business models - but subscription is the one that fits ESO the best, given our commitment to freedom of gameplay, quality and long-term content delivery. Plus, players will appreciate not having to worry about being "monetized" in the middle of playing the game, which is definitely a problem that is cropping up more and more in online gaming these days. The fact that the word "monetized" exists points to the heart of the issue for us: We don't want the player to worry about which parts of the game to pay for - with our system, they get it all."

So being max level makes you win? You do realize that there's more to the game than being V14 right? Used to be you could get to V14 in hours of grinding rather than days of questing. Didn't mean those people were any good at their class.

So what's 10% faster for people that are questing? Time saved. It's not like you hit V14 and you instantly get a set of Trial gear tailored to your play style.

There's plenty of V14's that suck at their class and are still grasping how to play. Soooo how is max level winning again?

To go in the same direction, I do a lot of PUGs recently to clear undaunted pledges and you'd be surprise how many V14 have never stepped in a vet dungeon...
