I have been thinking a bit about the melee weapon sets and the new DW ability that replaced Sparks/Ember explosion and thought I would share, see what others think. So here is the point:
in 1.6 the Sparks and Ember Explosion morph were removed. These gave a miss chance for melee attacks (40%) for explosion and could be fairly useful for tanking against mass mobs (useful not killer). The replacement is Blade Cloak which provides 20% damage mitigation against AOE damage only (a weird power in my mind). It also reflects some damage.
I had been hoping that DW might get a small buff to make it more comparable to S&B and 2hand in utility, but this weird little change seems to go the other way. What do others think?
By way of comparison for utility:
S&B: taunt, closer, disabler, lots of mitigation
2Hand: closer, disabler, heal, damage buff
DW: minor heal over time and AOE mitigation (if the cloak is worth while)
DW just seems less useful
