New stage option for vampires: Bloodletting.

In light of the Justice System change that stage 4 vampirism will be kill-on-site, I propose a new method to bypass the many-hours-long wait to "charge" your stage back up to 4 for running content where you need it.

This is based on the assumption that players should not be punished for needing to go to a city by losing their vampire strengths when they need them (having to wait hours to recharge). The strengths are already balanced by plenty of weaknesses, that adding pure convenience-based limitations like this would be lazy and unfair.

What I am proposing is an ability for vampires to visit the altar (wherever it is in your faction) and activate it to bleed themselves upon the altar which will damage them for 75% health and instantly increase their stage by one. You CAN die from this damage if you do it when under 75% health, but you can do it as many times as you like up to stage 4.

This makes sense from a lore perspective as well. Think of it as an offering, or a tribute, spilling the borrowed life essence in your veins upon Lamae's altar in order to heighten your vampiric powers.

Players would still have to feed as normal in order to lower their level before going into a city, which is already enough of an inconvenience having to hunt down humanoid NPC's. Making us wait so many hours before we can run content fully charged is unnecessary.

I feel this would be a convenient and lore-friendly change and also, kinda cool!

That is a pretty nice idea OP, i'd be all for it.

I find that vampires in stage 4 being KOS by guards a bit disturbing though. Was this a find from PTS? or did ZoS state it somewhere?

When and where did they say Stage 4 Vamps were kill on sight? I was running around on my Vampire and let him get to Stage 4 then stood in front of a guard for a good 5 minutes. Nothing at all happened.

Did they change this with 1.6.1?

I can't tell or test it as ZOS wiped all the NA character copies off the PTS.

Stage 4 vampires are NOT kill on sight, and that is good. Instead, feeding in public is a huge crime, and gives you immediately max heat.

Maybe someday it'll make it in. But for initial launch, unless changed, ain't happening.

OK, that's pretty nice there. Can't just go feeding willy-nilly on the unsuspecting townsfolken.

    Thanks for the info.

Good, being Stage 4 might actually be a disadvantage, if only slightly. I wish it meant that vampires and werewolves had a bloodlust, and if they were hungry would flip out and the player would lose control unless they kept fed. Maybe then, and only then would it actually be a disadvantage worth considering. I have 3 vampire characters, one of them is vet 14, one is vet 12, and I really can't see how people don't see how game breaking and stupid vampires are. Fire is not a real threat at all, anyone who says so is just selling you a bridge.

Part of the fun of playing such a character should be dealing with your disadvantages. Why does everyone want easy god-mode?

Had to read it twice. Interesting idea. Should give you a further boost if you use it at Stage 4. (Consider it a temporary buff like the Ayleid Wells are)

I'm fine with KoS, so long as they counter it with Vamp run cities.

Darn OP. You got my hopes up that they announced Vamp Stage 4/WW would be KOS somewhere. *sigh*
