Will the grouping tool be fixed in 1.6?

I think the grouping tool promotes laziness. It does sometimes take a bit of effort to get a group if you use /z , but overall it is a very effective way to get a group of like minded folks willing to do exactly what you want to accomplish.

I wish the group finder worked more like the DAoC group finder. In DAoC, when you used the group finder tool it would provide you with a list of the other people lfg and you could then whisper them to figure out their role and the dungeon they wanted to run.

I've used ESO's groupfinder twice to fill spots in pledge. Both times I was looking for a healer and instead DPS toons were thrown into my group because they'd checked all 3 roles in there groupfinder. Since then I haven't bothered with the tool not because it doesn't work, but because it relies on MMO players being honest, which is silly.

They shouldn't bother allocating resources to improving the groupfinder because it isn't necessary. It's much easier and more reliable to use zone and guildchat, and then slowly build up a friends list.

It's not so much a matter of being honest, but a matter of being aware, I think.

I noticed the other day when I was grouped with a friend that they had "Tank" marked in his group profile. They are NB DPS with no interest in tanking. I don't think they were aware of what their group indicator was set to. I'm quite sure they've never used the grouping tool because we always form groups in guild. Very rarely do we need to look for a 4th person (though we've met some really nice players that way and invited them).

I've used the grouping tool twice. Once we never found the fourth person, the second time, they were added to our group when we were half-way through the dungeon and actually joined us just as we finished beating the last boss.

Usually when we want to do a group dungeon, there are at least 3 of us that agree to doing it, and finding a fourth within the guild is easy. In fact, we usually find a 5th and a 6th.

I think players need to be made more aware of the group tool and how it works and start using it if they want to PUG. Then it will work.

I love how some people seem to consider spamming zone chat, or being part of a large guild, to be some sort of "skill".

LFG tools are awesome, doesn't mean you can't form a group without one, but answering "L2P" to people asking lfg tool is getting fixed is asinine.

And yes, i can find groups, i've done the daily pledges everyday for the past two weeks (since i resubbed in anticipation of 1.6), sometimes several times a day, no issue, that still does not excuse not having a working lfg tool at this day and age.

Also, it should add quest/delve specific section for Craglorn, as trying to find a group for the storyline there is pain in the ass (one of the main reasons i stopped subbing).

I really enjoyed the grouping tool at launch. I didn't really know anyone and zone chat was crazy busy. You could just go there and select role (dps) and dungeon (it only showed level appropriate ones) and go about your questing/exploring/crafting etc. I met some fun people that way! For new players it is really a good tool. I hope they do fix it one day. Also, sometimes you want to run a dungeon that isn't the daily pledge and you can only find one person in your guilds that also wants to do it...grouping tool could come in handy:)

Hopefully one day they will fix it, but with the dungeon scaling it needs additional options/criteria. For example, if you are a vr14 and only want to run vr12+ scaled dungeons or if you really don't care and will run something scaled down to level 40. You could be a lower level player and not want a vr14 in your dungeon because it takes all the fun/challenge out of the run.

Its this elitist mentality that creates a small circle where no one is welcomed in unless they were apart of the original group.

OR

No one can be apart of the team unless they know the lay of the land.

How about this tool that needs to exist and is one of the best ways for strangers to be introduced to other strangers and long-term it builds on the relationships of the game.

Based on the the reply...please provide suggestions on how one is to "learn how to find group without using it" ?

Regardless of how he meant it he is right, grouping system is an abortion.
