And if you cant fight devs, you fight others.

If you're saying this is what the ESO community is like, I have one question for you?

Have you even ever logged into the game?

I can ask anything I want, about anything at anytime and I'm never treated like you are in WoW or most other MMOs for asking a basic question.

Honestly, this all is kinda par for the course. And these forums are downright tame compared to some i've been a member of.

The problem though is this seems to be where Devs get their ideas for changes based off how people feel about the game.

There are more people online playing not complaining and enjoying the game than there are on here whining and screaming for changes. Pretty much how it is in every MMO though

The vocal minority live on forums, that's just the way it is.

The official forums of any game typically attract the more 'toxic' community members, but worry not! There are quite a few good individuals in the mix. I normally ignore those people / posts and move on.

Nope, all MMO forums are the same .. well, except for LOTRO's where they're moderated into oblivion (no pun intended) and dissent isn't tolerated.

Forums are a self-selecting minority, almost totally made up of people with an agenda or those concerned not to allow what those people say go without being challenged .. as @DMuehlhausen said, the majority are happily playing the game, or leaving it, without ever coming here.

Agree the forum is one of the worst i seen in any game. and have played all my life.. Its sad. But as some has said, ingame most people are fine, But there are a few people here that tend to get other with them that really ruin the forum and complain about anything.

I really hope then leave then the game get to be free.

Hehe. having survived the "Sappion reign," if you can even call it that, I know what you mean about LotrO

The one thing I did take away from it though, is that there really is a very, very small minority of people posting on any official game forum, who actually wants to just talk about things and figure things out to make everyone's experience better. It's like everyone posting is the enemy rather than the obsticles affecting your game enjoyment.

Mostly, it seems people posting just want to argue and then get approval from others about what they say, and flame everyone else who does not agree.

If someone is critical of a given aspect of the game and says it should be improved, there is always a wave of response that whoever is suggesting there is something wrong is blind, crazy, entitled, whathave-you... then the next thing you know the whole thread turns into some barrage of personal insults. No matter how many times someone says that they are voicing a concern rather than trashing the whole game, it is never heard.

Likewise, if someone is defending something about the game or the game as a whole no matter it's failings, the person gets flammed into the next life as a fanboi and can never shake off the title..... then the next thing you know the whole thread turns into some barrage of personal insults. No matter how many times someone says that they are.... you get my meaning.

Here, as when I was on LotrO, I go through phases of reading some things and posting and then go MIA for months, since I spend more time playing than on forums. When it starts to feel really toxic, there is really little point in even trying to make sense of what people say.

I think such situations are exactly what give rise to the Saps, and then the communitiy really does get annhialated. It's a shame what happened to OF over there, though happily a lot of us that lived through it found other ways to communicate with each other.

I can only hope it doesn't get to the same point here. A shout out to my Sanguine buddies if you are still around

It appears that ESO devs have been actively ignoring this forum and use and/or read only reddit forum. It has been so from the launch, meaning even before this forum developed the nature it has now.
Even Tamriel foundry, an ESO fan forum, doesn't appear to attract any attention from devs.

Actually TF has a different relationship with ZoS than Reddit but they are most definitely "in the loop" so to speak, far more than some might know of and definitely more than what we are here, sadly. You would think OF for any game would be the first order of business, but it hasn't quite seemed to pan out that way.

Reddit is attractive to the developers because you don't need a subscription to post. It is a conduit to potential customers.

Once the ESOTU transition is over, a lot of them will be able to post in here and Reddit will not be as necessary.

This one does not recognise the community of which you speak.

These forums are much better than the LOTRO ones during my six years there where anything that mentioned another game or was even slightly critical was removed.

This one is glad we are free to speak our minds within reason here and this one has a wonderful guild in the game and knows many really great players who are very community minded.

Zeni should listen more to this community though. Give customers what they want and you have happy customers who stay and pay.

This one would like the moon sugar - hope you are listening Zeni ...

That's just plain mean, comparing the heavy-handed, biased, and zero-tolerance attempt at moderation of a certain individual there with the laissez-fair approach here.

Is the last line the point of your post, to fight with others because you can't fight the devs?

It seems the most logical reason one would make a brand new post just to poke at the rest of the community.

I will never forgive that individual for removing my perfectly good thread on female dwarves just because Turbine didn't want to change anything in game that might cost them money or effort to do so. Rosiebelle Rabbitbane remembers ...

This one would like to keep the smooth white fur she has thankyou. She needs it to keep warm when far away from warm sands.

It is true. A lot of players that rant on this forum can't manage to be constructive, and see various things from a different perspective.
