It is true that after 1.6 they have said to NOT expect more updates. They lost a few developers and the ones that are left say they need a break ....

They haven't even mentioned anything lately about finishing the Champion system. Remember phase 4? Maybe this forum is just filling up with new members that don't know about previous plans, but ZoS hasn't given us any indication lately that they even intend to implement phase 4 at any time in the near future, let alone DLC.

I just don't trust them anymore. Not one little bit.

I'm confused then. If there are no updates for the rest of the year, how will there be DLC?

People are still doing the whole the game is dead they said "x" that is full of hyperbole. Just ignore those posts and wait for ZOS to release info. The good news is if you don't want to pay after March 17th you won't have to until they release new stuff.

I sincerely hope that all the promised upcoming DLC hasn't been pushed back to 2016. If so I think it's safe to say my time with ESO is over. I've been here since launch and I didn't want to leave, but I really need some new content to keep me hooked at this point.

Road Ahead should be up in a few days.

Consoles are launching in June, so expect many DLCs between July-December.

Yeah. No idea where people got the idea that there were no updates until the end of the year. That's never been said.

Because they still need us to Beta Test the update 6

Seriously though the signs were pretty clear, they've done everything they could just to perfect the launch of ESO just for Consoles. That pretty much says everything.

Also it would be really dumb of them not to make ESO centered around Consoles (considering how Skyrim sold nearly all the copies just on Consoles and barely anything on PC).

Oh they'll sell the copies of ESO there damn well..they will also maintain there a far bigger playerbase than we on PC could ever imagine to have. I have to wonder though, what happens to us PC players once they don't need us anymore? (Which should be soon anyway)

Only thing I've heard them say is that we should expect 'fewer updates', not every 6 weeks or so like it was supposed to be during sub-fee base and that they plan on letting the game 'breathe' a while after the release of consoles.

So, we basically don't know anything at this point.

ZOS sort of did "release info". They said after 1.6 that there wouldn't be new content for a while because they wanted to let the 1.6 release "breathe" for a while (whatever that means).

If you use some logic you can draw some pretty easy conclusions that there will be no new content until maybe the end of the year if we are lucky. Just look at the stated schedule as it stands now. 1.6 hits and then console launches in June (they said console would launch in the state of 1.6 so nothing new prior to that). You can make a pretty easy conclusion that they wouldn't release new DLC right after the console launch which means the best hope for new playable content would be sometime at the end of the year (maybe Christmas?).

Whether they release something in December or October it really doesn't matter. Depending on what you count as the last content release (1.6 is not really new content per se) we are now a long, long ways away from the promise of new content every 4-6 weeks and the majority of the content they showed at Quakecon last year looks like it won't see the light of day this year at all (they also said in the latest ESO Live that Spellcrafting was not even being worked on at the moment because they are too busy changing to B2P for consoles and you know..making 5 dollar loin cloths for the cash shop or whatever).

Unless someone can post a source that I may have missed, they basically are going to release update 6, then work on ESO Unlimited until its release in March, then work on getting the console version out in June, iron out any hitches with that, and THEN they will release DLC. Do you really think they are going to change to B2P, PC and then console, and then have no way to bring in revenue? Subscribers will want to unsub until DLC starts rolling out and the cash shop will only go so far without DLC in it. I imagine there are some devs working hard to have some nice DLC stored up for roughly Aug-Dec to start bringing in the $ again, but I would expect no new content until then, at least August.

Keep in mind that ESO brings in more than TES fans that happen to play on a PC. There is a gigantic amount of people that came to ESO just for the MMO.

I agree with what you are saying, but don't underestimate the number of people playing ESO that barely even tried a console TES game.

Unless I am mistaken and I very well may be, I thought I heard/read that there will not be any major updates like 1.6 for the rest of the year. That there will still be some updates like bug fixes, quest fixes and stuff like that. In addition possible DLC after the console release. I think when they meant no more updates, it was more not that there will not be updates the magnitude of 1.6 or 1.5 before that.

Again, I may just be misremembering what I read or heard, but it makes sense that something as big as 1.6 wont happen for the rest of the year.

They didn't say there won't be ANYTHING until 2016. Just that updates will be slower coming. Reading between the lines "don't be surprised if we don't release anything between March and Christmas".

I'm sure there will be updates around Christmas.
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.

Exactly.. That will give the console players time to soak in all of the content in the game and get them up to speed with the PC players.. BUT this will mean the pc players will be running old content for almost a year..

Basically ZOS has a almost a year to "REST" as the game is basically going to be brand new to a LOT of new players.

To me ESO always felt more like a singleplayer TES game than an MMO. With the Justice System implemented it will feel like that even more.

If it was the MMO aspect I was looking for, I wouldn't play ESO for sure as it's severely lacking. However the RPG aspect is so far ahead of other MMOs which is what makes ESO unique experience. But then again unique "solo" experience.

Console players are playing 2h daily at max, they are very very casual compared to PC casuals. With the current content they can easily play more than a year, perhaps even 2 years. Also they are dumb enough to buy DLCs which will cost way more than the sub fee.

I always found it odd how ESO wasn't even marketed "properly". If I wouldn't do my own research I'd never discover it. I'm pretty sure most of TES fans still don't have a clue that ESO exists.

There goal will be console after June, wouldn't surprise me if pc gets shut down come x-mas.

But what they have said is basically they won't be able to keep the same pace of updates they did in 2014, which given that pace most are expecting the next update to be fall or very end of the year.

Wow, I'm getting bored now, can't imagine what will happen if I have to wait till almost Xmas before we get any new content. Running the same vet dungeons are getting dull especially when the rewards are not really worth it.
