Must Haves for Crown Store:

Not a huge fan of B2P business models, however... since there's going to be one I think the following services are pretty much mandatory:

Riding Training tokens, to speed training or to back-fill days you missed getting online. Basically a monetary way to bypass the 180 days it'll take to max riding on a new toon. The riding training, and even feeding horses, simply takes time. It's not about effort, REAL time spent or any sense of "earning" anything. It's simply an artificial delay, spreading the in-game GOLD cost of max level riding out over months. Either give us a way to just spend X gold to be max instantly, or give us the ability to buy Tokens with Crowns that, when clicked, give us day(s) of training and then consume the Token.

Re-Name Character under the same limitations as naming a new character, but for a price. Rather silly this isn't listed yet. I get that the store just opened and is only PTS but how was this not the first thing someone thought up? Put a limit on how frequently it can be used, sure... but it should be there.

Faction-Change for a single character, with an account-wide limit per 30, 60 or 90 days. Obviously something that would take a little longer to set up but you'd be foolish not to implement it. (I would limit this to veteran characters who have completed Cadwell's Gold, to avoid quest issues).

^^ Those three things would help your user community the most AND would earn you the most $$ via Crown purchases. #2 & 3 are things even pure SUB games often offer through purchases (even subscription games with no store usually allow purchased name changes, character moves, etc).

This should be in there day 1. Before release when ZOS was answering about going to a subscription model while defending a "cash shop", Name Change was one of the things they said would be in there because it provided no advantage to players. I won't buy 98% of the stuff they will be selling, but I would buy a name change

F2P, B2P, etc. are valid, proven business models - but subscription is the one that fits ESO the best, given our commitment to freedom of gameplay, quality and long-term content delivery. Plus, players will appreciate not having to worry about being "monetized" in the middle of playing the game, which is definitely a problem that is cropping up more and more in online gaming these days." - Matt Firor

I'm not sure about the riding.

If you allow use of cash to max riding, then the maxed riding speed will become the baseline, and you will have people complaining "OMG this game is so bad, you won't even be able to move at a normal speed unless you pay them!"

Same happened back in SWTOR when it went F2P, and trying to explain the "gimped slow speed" is in fact the normal speed that all subscribers used to run at when the game was launched just fell on deaf ears.

Too close to P2W if they start adding boosters. 10% experience/gold from membership is ok but if they start adding more the in game economy and concept of leveling meaning anything will be gone.

You're already at a disadvantage in PvP if you don't have top speed mounts. It would change nothing except give people quicker access to catching up.

I want a race change but I think it would make certain race/class combos required. Better avoid this one.

    I want a barber/face/body respec though.

Faction change should be implemented only if cadwells gold / silver is completed. And then be required to redo all the quests to change again + timer.

I want an item which allows me to change the trait or weight (light, med, or heavy) of a piece of gear. Screw grinding undaunted, and screw the training\well-fitted traits. Itemization on PvP gear is also really, really bad.

There are no "top speed mounts" in 1.6. All you have is your personal riding skill, and various cosmetic horse skins.

I'd rather have them selling flying mounts before race and faction change.

IF faction change ever gets into the game, it should be a quest; and a hard one at that.

And for race change, just roll a new character, changing race makes absolutely no sense lore-wise, gameplay-wise or in any other possibly conceivable manner other than "I don't want to level another character from scratch!". Heck, they might as well sell "instant veteran rank 14 potions" if they're going to sell race change. It's almost the same thing.

I know of several people who want to be able to buy Extra Character Slots. It's inconvenient to have to create a second account just because you play a lot.
Guildmaster of the UESP Guild on the North American PC/Mac Server 2200+ CP & also found on the European PC/Mac Server 1700+ CP

These characters are on both servers:
Alix de Feu - Breton Templar Healer level 50
    Brings-His-Own-Forest - Argonian Warden Healer level 50
Hrodulf Bearpaw - Nord Warden Bear Friend & identical twin of Bjornolfr level 50
Jadisa al-Belkarth - Redguard Arcanist looking for a role

    NA-only characters:
Martin Draconis - Imperial Sorceror Healer (Aldmeri Dominion) level 50
Arzhela Petit - Breton Dragonknight Healer (Daggerfall Covenant) level 50
Bjornolfr Steel-Shaper - Nord Dragonknight Crafter & Not-Much-Damage Dealer (Ebonheart Pact) level 50
Verandis Bloodraven - Altmer Nightblade Healer & clone of Count Verandis Ravenwatch (Aldmeri Dominion) level 50
Gethin Oakrun - Bosmer Nightblade Thief & terrible Tank (Ebonheart Pact) level 50

So, let's see how many LoLs this one can get...

-Racial motifs - would put an end to the sales of them for insane prices in-game
-Cloaks. Every other game have them, dammit. AND - they obviously have some Tech for it already in the game, since we've seen characters With cloaks in early beta footage.

Most games don't have cloaks. The ones that claim to mostly have capes. Either way, the rendering engines in those game usually suffer huge blows to performance when around other people, specifically because players expect "capes" to render like real cloth, which is all well and good in a single player game but in an MMO... you're pretty much hanging yourself.

I don't see what the problem is regarding "breaking lore" this way. It's something that would first and foremost only affect RPers, and second, if someone no longer RPs in a way that's believable or in line with your group's standards, you just stop RPing with that character. Is this really something that would be a problem in your community?

Novelity items! Like the meat sack, etc. Do something cool, but totally useless in combat.

Free teleports! Tired of paying ~150g to jump to a wayshrine. Use these.

Emotes! I know we have a lot, but who wouldn't pay a few crowns for some special ones!

Come on, there have to be better ones than what I've seen in this thread.

Got me thinking, it should really be based on time spent riding on a horse, Elder Scrolls style, and not training you pay for on a cooldown.
Then maybe you could actually go to a trainer and spend money (in game or otherwise) to speed up that process (RP speak: pay for tips and tricks on how to be a better rider).

Please Please Please let us buy Extra Character Slots! If you want to make it be only with Crowns bought with $$$ and not available for Crowns earned with a Sub. Obviously I prefer to buy them with Crowns I already have but I am prepared to throw $$$ at you Zenimax, what's to lose here? :)

Also with the "nerf" to hirelings getting rare items there is no valid argument against it. In fact you could just make it so any number of characters past 8 are not able to Craft or get Hirelings. Please add more Character Slots.

Every MMO I have played that had any kind of cash shop at all has allowed players to purchase Extra Character Slots, it is a staple of any B2P MMO.

I personally don't think I will use them, but another staple is Name Changes, Hair Changes. Total Appearance Conversion Changes. I would argue against Gender Changes, Race Changes, and Alliance Changes, since I believe your original choices should matter and not be taken lightly (other then cosmetics such as Hair change etc.)

Thanks for the hard work Zenimax. :)

There are cloaks (and capes) in a couple superhero and other multiplayer titles. I thought that point was made perfectly clear.

With my personal experience in UE (Haven't had the opportunity or personal time to work cloaks in another engine) this isn't a hard thing to do or as you say "hanging yourself". Keeping it from clipping into the characters back, shoulders or legs is the hardest challenge from my experience. It's easier to just bake the art around points such as where the cloth meets the shoulders and this can be done in a very stylish way as well that actually benefits the design.
