I was wondering with the transition to Tamriel Unlimited if I was to buy a copy of ESO right now and activate it 30 days before Tamriel Unlimited launches, will I get the 1500 Crown bonus? Someone said they contacted support and they said it needs to be a paid subscription to be eligible for the crown bonus. Is this true?

It's a very good question. What the support rep told you is correct, @xELITEx. The 30 days of included game time is not counted as part of the 1500 crown bonus that we give out for 30 days of paid game time (there's a longer explanation of recurring crown allotment here.)
