This B2P stuff is actually great news for us PvPers

No more paying for PvE updates! No more mandatory 15$/month payments for a VR version of some dungeon or another silly 12-man trial. The only time we will ever have to give Zenimax another cent is likely the Imperial City update, as there will probably never be any other PvP updates.

Actually, we shouldn't be required to pay more for the Imperial City since we have already paid for our month of playtime from the game purchase and about nine months of subscription time without a single PVP update. The PVE players have received all of the attention so far while those of us in Cyrodiil have withered on the vine due to almost a year of neglect.

    This.

People seem to be clinging to the Imperial City being the saviour of PVP.

I don't think anyone is clinging to an idea that Imperial City will be a savior of PvP, you're missing the point entirely.

It's the ONLY PvP update, look at all of the PvE updates they're handing out for free. Now, they take the PvP update and slap a DLC on it? It doesn't matter how much PvE Imperial City is, it matters because it's the first time they're going in and switching up PvP.

Again, the reason why this needs to be included is so that the PvP players returning stick around, and purchase DLC's or subscribe in the future. If not, players will come back to PvP, see nothing has changed and go back to whatever game they were playing before making the mistake of trying ESO again.

I don't think you get it: it's not a PVP update... Just putting it in the PVP zone doesn't make it a PVP update.

It's a PVE update in PVP. PVPers will probably be waiting endlessly for a substantial PVP update.

I am getting the feeling that ZOS has basically given up on this game. They just want to get it to a state where it can hum along with minimal supervision as-is (after 1.6 and whatever they have committed to already) and then just milk the cash store and all they have to do is once in a while add some new costumes or whatever to entice the sheep.

Sorry if that was already obvious to you. I still held out a tiny bit of hope. But not any more. Not going to give ZOS one more dime.

Maybe, but it will give people incentive to fight in PvP

The PvP endgame in Warhammer Online was an "imperial city" basically designed as a chain of PvE raids as well and it drove a lot of dedicated PvPers away, even if they liked the game in general. Including me.

The bad news is, all those PvPers who are no longer paying subs or buying from the cash shop means lost revenue for ZOS.

Lost revenue means less cash to fuel development, meaning less updates to the game as a whole, including any PvP updates.

But ya.. as a PvPer, you're right there won't be much incentive so sub after March 17th.

Ya, that drove me away from WaR as well.

Mixing PvP and PvE is not a smart move. Gating PvE behind PvP is even dumber.

Hopefully Imperial City is some type of small scale pvp, or super keep that focuses solely on PvP elements.

Cyrodil already has enough crappy PvE (delves with bugged timers, quests no one cares about). Let's not add more please.
